The Judge will ask you where your attorney is and if you can afford an attorney, the Judge will tell you to come back to court with an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney and can prove that you cannot afford an attorney, the Judge will appoint a Public Defender. This is not a normal ticket.... View More
The trip was booked, then you received the ticket appear in court.

Your case needs to be advanced and you need to ask the Judge for a new court date or resolve the matter on the date the matter is advanced. There is a proper procedure that needs to be followed in order to have a matter advanced. An attorney can assist you with this.
Or can you pay the fine for the ticket and plead guilty?

Cell Phone Use Tickets in Illinois are now all moving violations as of July, 2019. You need to look at your ticket to see if a court appearance is required. If one is not required, you could just mail in a payment but that is never advisable. If a court appearance is required, you can appear in... View More
Hi, I am 20 years old and currently live in the United States, Illinois as a non-citizen. I got my Temporary Visitors Drivers License issued on 09/2018, but I got it suspended on 07/2019 with a Termination Date of 01/2020. I was sent a letter with an envelope, telling me to surrender my license,... View More

You need to have an attorney review your driving record to determine what will happen or what could be done to lift the suspension of your license. The sooner you do this the better.

Yes they can and they do often check the status of your insurance on the date and time you received the ticket. DO NOT bring in a false insurance card because you could be held in Contempt of Court for doing so and I have seen it done.

Sometimes the ticket numbers need to be entered in a certain way in order to show up. I suggest contacting the Circuit Court Clerk in the County your matter is in and ask them what is going on with this ticket.

because I failed to stop at stop sign which was seen in video is enough even though I was not sited for it
answered on Nov 27, 2019
Failure to stop at stop sign would give a police officer probable cause to pull you over. Regardless, officers can run license plates at any point and do not need a reason to do so. I am going to guess that you have an attorney and really should be discussing this with that attorney. If you do not... View More

What? Bond lifted? Why would you want a bond lifted? If the bond is lifted, that means you will be taken into custody and remain in custody until your case is resolved. Some attorneys will be able to work from the bond and a payment plan but you need to call around and get quotes. The sooner you... View More
I was convicted of Domestic Battery and then later diagnosed with PTSD.
answered on Nov 25, 2019
No, a Domestic Battery conviction can not be Sealed. The time to have the charge reduced was prior to pleading guilty or going to trial, so that time has passed as well. Your only option is to request Executive Clemency from the Governor but way of an Executive Clemency Petition.
My girlfriend and I had an argument, and I got really angry that she thought I would hit her, so she called the police and made a report, but she didn’t press charges.

One prior speeding ticket 3 years ago in Iowa. Current speeding ticket is in Illinois. Can I just apply for supervision online/pay the ticket or would it be more beneficial to go to court in front of a judge?
answered on Nov 25, 2019
If the ticket gives you the option to apply for Court Supervision, you could try and do that but there is no guarantee that you will receive Court Supervision. Appearing in court will likely result in Court Supervision but there will also be an increase fine involved due to mandatory assessments... View More

Go to court with a current license and the ticket will likely be dismissed, but since you are currently serving a sentence, you will want to hire an attorney to assist you with these new tickets.
i will be pleading guilty with request for order of supervision

You will have to bring a parent with you to court. If this is your first ticket, you should receive Court Supervision, a fine and have to complete Traffic Safety School. Failure to appear in court with a parent will result in you having to come back to court with a parent, so do not try and hide... View More
He did not come to a full and complete stop at a stop sign. He does NOT have to appear in court but he does not want to have this on his record. By pleading guilty and paying the fine through the mail, does it stay on his record? For how long? Is he on probation? THANKS for your help!
answered on Nov 18, 2019
If he pays the fine, he will receive a conviction which will not be good for him or you because your insurance company will find out about it and increase your premiums. Your son should mail in the ticket pleading not guilty and request a bench trial date. The Circuit Court Clerk will send him a... View More

This is a criminal offense. You need to hire an attorney to assist you with this matter right away. That attorney will attempt to have the charges amended to a petty traffic ticket, but that attorney will need time to work your case, so the sooner you hire an attorney, the better.
