Speeding 26-34 mph over the limit is a Class B misdemeanor. Technically, it is punishable by a maximum of 6 months in jail and a $1,500.00 fine. However, assuming that this is your first offense and you were polite and cooperative with the officer, it may be possible to keep this off of your public... View More
I'm 16 and It was 2am, and I was going 60 in a 30, there was no one else on the road. got a ticket for past curfew and paid it, my court date is tomorrow. What are my chances of getting my license suspended vs getting supervision?

Speeding 26+ mph over the limit is a Class B misdemeanor. If you are convicted of 2 moving violations within a 2 year period under the age of 21 you face a license suspension. It may be possible to avoid a conviction depending on a few factors. An attorney can certainly assist you and ensure the... View More
I thought that there is usually an option to pay the fine and not have it affect my driving record or plead guilty. Only option appears to be paying the fine and pleading guilty or requesting a trial. The trial location would be hours from my home. Am I missing something?

It is possible to keep it off your record but you may need to have an attorney appear on your behalf if you are unable to attend court. Not all tickets have the option of requesting supervision without a court appearance.
Please give me best idea. I am not sure that I drove 103 mph it might be 83 or 93 mph but coups issued ticket of 103.I didn’t want argue with coups that time, whatever he said I did and sign the ticket. I also paid 250$ cash at the same time. What is best further step please advice me.
Thank you.

Because the offense was for speeding 33 over, this is a Class B misdemeanor. Technically, you are facing a maximum penalty of 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1500. However, there are many possibilities based on a variety of factors including your driving record. Contact an attorney directly... View More
I have a clean record as this is my first offense. Is there a way to either reduce points or get the violation removed through supervision and/or traffic school? I’m 21.

Wisconsin does not have court supervision. Ideally the ticket would be reduced to a non moving violation. An attorney in Wisconsin may be able to assist you or advise whether that is possible. Paying it outright would result in a conviction on your Illinois record.

A motion would need to be filed with the clerk of court to reopen the case. It is still very possible to obtain court supervision. An attorney may be able to handle this process on your behalf without the need for you to to appear in court.
I want to request court supervision, but going into court is a problem right now because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I live with several at-risk family members. Can I request court supervision by mail?
answered on Jun 21, 2020
That depends on the type of speeding ticket and the courthouse where it is assigned. If your ticket is not marked as “must appear” or required court appearance, you should have been given instructions along with your ticket. The instructions may be an envelope or on the back of your ticket. If... View More
Also, is there any way to go about this without insurance finding out, and/or without it staying on my record? Finally, what would this be classified as? Again, first offense but I am young so they may slam me... thank you.

Promise to comply is your agreement to appear in court. You could have been required to post a cash bond instead. The offense itself is a class b misdemeanor, technically punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $1500 fine. However, it is certainly possible to minimize these consequences and even... View More
I receive a ticket in Mo. The officer told me that I should be getting the citation is 2-4 weeks. I looked up my name in the case.net. I could not find my name in the system. I guess I wanted to take care of the ticket, before I get a warrant out in my name.

I would also suggest contacting an attorney in MO (ideally someone in the county where the ticket was issued) or the clerk’s office in that county to see if they can shed any light on the current procedures and any delays.
Hi everyone. I have a question of this. I had a ticket from McLean County in last November 27th. I paid the ticket already and done with the Traffic School already. Very likely the court supervision termination date was automatically postponed due to the court closures. You can contact the Clerk of the Circuit Court to verify.

Just to clarify, if he had an Illinois license at the time of the DUI (and there is a revocation on his Illinois record), I concur with Mr. Harvatin's answer. However, if he obtained a license in Illinois subsequent to the DUI and they are refusing to renew his Illinois license, the issue will... View More

It is certainly possible to keep it off of your record given the fact that this was your first ticket (likely with court supervision). However, it is a Class B misdemeanor. Contact an attorney in Tazewell County to assist.
I have a dupage county traffic court date which is moved to 07/23/2020. I have to move out of state this month. It should not be a problem having an attorney appear on your behalf under these circumstances. We must do this often for our clients without issue in DuPage County.
When reducing an aggaravated speed violation to petty offense with supervision 4 month, is there a criminal record and does this violation affect the immigration status, knowing that I am waiting for an application for permanent residence
answered on May 2, 2020
Although you were initially charged with a criminal offense, it was ultimately resolved as a petty offense, so it is unlikely to cause you any issues. If you were arrested at the time of the offense or if you were placed on bond, there would still be an arrest record. An immigration attorney would... View More
I have now received my 3rd speeding ticket within 1 year. Should I plead guilty and apply for traffic school or try to request a court supervision? Will traffic school dismiss the third ticket?
answered on May 1, 2020
A third conviction within 12 months will suspend your driver’s license. If you are eligible and have the option to take traffic school without appearing in court, that is a form of court supervision, which will not count as a conviction. As a result, it will prevent your license from being... View More

If this is the same individual that just asked about missed traffic school, you would likely need to file a motion at the Clerk's Office at the courthouse to bring the case back into court to request that the Judge reinstate the court supervision/give you additional time to complete traffic... I have gotten 2 tickets, i had to do one online class and one class in person, i missed my in person class and failed to re register for another and for the online class i failed to complete it.
answered on Apr 27, 2020
If you already missed the deadline for both, you (or your attorney) would likely need to file a motion with the Clerk's Office for each case in order to appear in court before the Judge and request that the sentences of court supervision be reinstated.
answered on Apr 23, 2020
You can technically receive court supervision on up to 2 traffic violations issued within any 12 month period. The second order of court supervision would typically require an in-person court appearance.
Code is 11.1301, would it be a moving or non-moving violation. He noted that it was blocking the road way for others to street race. I wasn’t participating.

This offense is not a moving violation - no points assigned by the Secretary of State.
