I was in an accident due to a failure to yield left and they found me at fault for the accident. I was told by the officer in charge that I would be able to pay my citation and plead guilty for the charge, but now it says I have a mandatory court appearance. It is a misdemeanor for crim/traffic and... View More

If the officer checks the "property damage or injury" box on the citation, the court appearance becomes mandatory. That means failure to appear will result in an arrest warrant. A misdemeanor is a crime punishable by a maximum of 90 days jail, though jail is rare in cases like this.... View More

I was behind the bus but passed it before it started to slow down or put on it’s lights. Paying the fine is a guilty plea and it will go on your record. It will also likely affect your insurance rates. You should consider challenging the ticket. An attorney can help make success more likely.

Pay citation and hope for the best

Paying the fine is the equivalent of a guilty plea. I would contact the court tomorrow and set something up with a hearing officer. The court won’t do anything with the citation today because it’s Sunday.

Best move would be to get a lawyer last week or earlier. Next best move is to do that now if you’re serious about this
I've never had a violation before. Do police officers ever make mistakes? Do I have to go to traffic court to sort this out?
answered on Oct 18, 2020
You go to court and contest it. Or you have your lawyer go to court and contest it.

This isn’t a question, but I would advise you to work with an attorney to sort out the situation and prevent future problems.
Would i still have to pay for it even tho I haven't even received the ticket and I have my parents to back it up

It would be wise to check with the court to see if a citation was filed. A lawyer can also assist you with getting to the bottom of the situation.
See to my left because of the sun glaring in my eyes. So I proceeded with caution by letting my foot off the brake. I didn't even touch the gas peddle yet when the other car hit me. A witness said I ran the stop sign going over 30. That's a lie because I stopped for longer then required... View More

It’s unclear to me whether you are criminally charged or just dealing with the insurance aspect of this. The insurance company should not be contacting you directly, instead their insurance company should be discussing the matter with your insurance company. Ultimately, the decision of who to... Time to have an attorney help you fight this. Many of us offer free consults.
I was walking downtown to get food with my friends a few hours after Minneapolis sent out an amber alert (on iPhones) warning people that there was a curfew set. Curfew was set at 9:00 pm and we were downtown around 1:00 am. I was not in Minneapolis at the time the amber alert was sent, so I did... View More

It was for speeding and he didn’t have proof of insurance. I have looked it up online and called the number on the ticket. How long do they have to submit this information?
answered on Sep 18, 2020
The general statute of limitations is quite long. I’ve seen it take much longer than this for a ticket to get uploaded as officers are not always the most reliable. A lawyer could look into this with the police and courts and find out what is happening.
The rez cop told me that his printer was not working and that I was sighted for no insurance,( I do have insurance) no seat belt and speeding when I know that I was not going over 60 cuz I did have my cruise on,but the rez cop said that I was going 68 but he brought it down to 64 in a 55. A typo is not going to get you out from under this ticket. Paying the ticket is the equivalent of a guilty plea so decide accordingly.

It sounds like you are facing a misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines. Additionally, if you were going over 100 MPH, you risk losing your license for at least 6 months. You should have an attorney assist you with this case.
