In Hawaii, as in many states, the use of video recordings without consent can be a complex legal issue. While laws can vary, generally speaking, recording someone without their consent in situations where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy may raise legal concerns.

Contact the Hawaii child support services agency. Once you make application they will do the legal work to collect child support owed. It is not a quick process, but it is essentially free and they catch up to non-payers who have arrears.

Q: If the custodial parent doesn’t go in office to be served papers, what happens to case?

The custodial parent received a letter that it was mandatory to go in the Child Support office by 4/1 to be served, or else state assistance would be stopped. What happens to case then, if she no longer is cooperating? Is case closed & paternity no longer established?

I suggest you talk with an attorney who can ask you...

It depends what you are trying to do, what type of attorney you need. From your post, I guess you are trying to not pay the $23K child support. You ask if you are divorced. You can call the Family Courthouse and ask the clerk to look up a possible divorce under your name and your spouse's... View More

Q: In the state of Hawaii, can a non-custodial parent relinquish their rights to children and not pay support?

non-custodial parent does not see children unless mother says yes. Total days seen in 2016=4. Father was unable to keep visitation schedule made by mother because of work schedule and children's school/sport schedule and children live 24.5 miles approximately a 2 hour drive to and from. Mother... View More

The brief answer is that a non-custodial parent cannot relinquish/terminate their rights to their child, nor their child support obligation.
