Very unlikely because if everyone’s first offense was dismissed, nobody would ever have a second offense. Sounds like there was some miscommunication, but if you show up in court on the court date with the proof of insurance the ticket should be dismissed.

The length of the suspension depends upon how many points you will have accumulated. That depends on the nature of the tickets and how fast over the limit you were going. Ticket will probably be dropped if you show up in court. Other driver most likely will not show.
