First, Justia is not a lawyer referral service. Attorneys cannot contact you from this website. Second, why would you wait until the due date for your appeal to try to find a lawyer?

Many attorneys send checks once a month to Support Enforcement. If it's been over 30 days, I would notify your caseworker with the state and provide him/her with a copy of your check stubs showing these deductions. The employer and/or the state may be crediting the payments to the wrong... View More

Attorneys cannot reach out to you through Justia, but you can reach out to them.
If she take me off will I be paying the same amount
answered on Nov 23, 2018
It will take her about 90 days to put you back on child support and they will do a new assessment of your income and hers. So child support may go up, down or stay the same.

Short answer, no. The state is paying for her medical care and wants to be reimbursed by the father.

Yes but it would be ill advised because the 16 year old is a minor and the 19 year old is an adult. There is criminal exposure.
Ex girlfriend and I just had a court order signed by a judge granting us 50/50 shared joint custody and naming us "co-domicile" parents. The agreement states that child support will be dropped. My son is not receiving government assistance to my knowledge. I currently carry him under my... View More

We don't have "co-domiciliary" in LA. Your attoeney can now make the case that there is no hang in circumstances since the Judgment that no child support is due.

If done through the state yes, just call your caseworker. If done privately, call your attorney

Hire a custody attorney to seek custody or visitation. Keep track of every time you are denied contact.
is she supposed to still get child support

Go pick up your 16 year old, who is too young to fend for himself. Then hire a lawyer to terminate child support and change custody in fact you can file for child support from her.

You have to hire a private child support lawyer who can file suit in LA and get him served by long arm at work. Once you have a judgment, you can garnish his wages and put a lien on any property.
We share joint legal and physical custody in Louisiana.
Our Agreement states “parents are each responsible for 50% of the expenses related to the primary education of the child.”

I'm guessing this agreement came from a hearing officer conference. Both incomes were taken into account in that recommendation. You don't get a credit for tuition you don't pay (ie that is covered by your discount).
answered on Nov 2, 2018
Absolutely not. Your attorney needs to file a Motion to Terminate the garnishment.

No. Only the benefit he derives from expense sharing with you

An attorney can file for custody, child support, spousal support with or without divorce. There is no such thing as emergency child support.
He does not help at all financially. And he does not see our son or contact him. All I have is his phone number. He will not give me his address.
Daughter turned 18 and it went from active to "pending closure" status. Does this mean I'm thru paying child support? I don't have any court orders in place, everything was done by dfcs.

If she's 18 and no longer a high school student, then yes.

An attorney that handles family law matters. Give me a call and I'll be happy to discuss those matters with you.
I had a meeting to put in child-support this week and I have just been served with a order from back in May. So if I’ve already got an order in place does this mean that the one I was just served is now null and void?
answered on Oct 6, 2018
Did you just get served with an Order to Appear or a Judgment of Child Support?

1) A father cannot terminate his rights or get out of child support unless the mother's husband is adopting.
2) The mother pays for the legal fees for her husband to adopt.
