I suppose so. Anyone can contact the police and make a complaint. That doesn't mean the police will do anything about it or "press charges". All depends on what evidence they find through their investigation.
met are fighting over his estate. I have been desperately trying to see his final wishes honored and obtain the one thing he promised me (a wolf hat), but to no avail!!!

A Michigan attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. I'm sorry for the loss of your best friend. Not all questions here are answered, but you could try reposting under "Probate" and "Estate Planning" for better chances of a response. Good luck
I had to pay 80k to an attorney to get my half of my inheritance. If he would not have lied on the affidavit I wouldn’t have had to get an attorney. Can I get my uncle to pay my attorney fees?

answered on Aug 15, 2023
Possibly. You should talk with your lawyer about that. If the claim is now settled, you might have some difficulty going back asking for more money now.
I signed a contract at a gym that stated that I have to give a 30 day notice to cancel my membership. I canceled on the 19th of last month. My bill is do the 20th of every month. They said there should be 1 more payment, but the 20th will be 31 days.

A Michigan attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. It sounds like you complied, based on the brief description. But an attorney could advise more definitively with seeing the membership contract. Good luck

A Michigan attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for four weeks. One option may be to try to arrange a free initial consult with a workers' comp attorney to discuss in more detail. Good luck
They wrote wrong vehicle info in the ticket and report. Completely wrong year model and vin. Only thing correct was the color. They "allegedly" found drugs in the vehicle. Can the whole case be thrown out because of the amount of wrong information on the ticket.

answered on Apr 17, 2023
Your problem is going to be that once it became known your driver license is suspended, you were subject to arrest, and the search of the car became a search incident to arrest; they didn't need your consent. The wrong info on the ticket is immaterial.
Close friends for over 40 years and I am closest person he has to family. there's also a home he owned.

answered on Apr 11, 2023
You, or someone, will need to initiate probate court proceedings - likely an assignment of property - before you can have proper title to the vehicle. Unfortunately, when it comes to the law, "close" only counts in horseshoes...

You can make a police report. What the police do with it from there depends on the situation.
payment on it, I did. Now they want me to reissue the check but do know about me getting the charge for stop payment fee reimbursement. I feel they had this check in their safe and I should not issue another check until that fee is paid by them. Please help?

answered on Dec 20, 2022
Not sure what your question is. I can see your point in that you paid them what they were owed, and incurred an additional fee to do so that you had nothing to do with. I can also see their point that what happened doesn't change the fact that you still owe them that set amount. I think -... View More
I intend to marry my cousin but the state does not allow it. My question is whether we can marry in another state and come back living happily ever after or will Michigan void the marriage and we are better off moving to a state that allows first cousin marriage?

Whose going to object if you marry in another state and live happily ever after?
They have been here 2-1/2 weeks. It appears they are professional squatters. Do they have any legal rights to stay?and what steps should I take?

answered on Sep 22, 2022
Did you allow them in or did they trespass to gain entry? The answer to that will determine your route forward.

answered on Sep 6, 2022
Make efforts to demand the car's return. Then contact the police.

answered on Aug 26, 2022
The sort of help you need depends on what you want to see happen from here. For sure, you need someone to help you object to the PPO, before anything else falls into place.

You'll be hard pressed to find a New York attorney in the Michigan forum here.

What do you mean by search? You would generally need to be appointed by the court as personal representative before taking action.
I don't live in the state the company is located in

answered on Aug 2, 2022
You don't have to live in the state, but you almost certainly do need a lawyer before proceeding.
The trust states that personal property is to be divided evenly between code executors. My brother is the other co-executor and he removed the property, and changed the locks on house and garage barring me access.

answered on Jul 13, 2022
Probate court would be the forum to raise this issue. Unfortunately, even with a trust, your brother's actions may necessitate court involvement to resolve.

Are you still in high school? If not and you are over 18, you are now a tenant subject to eviction as any other tenant unfortunately.
