I'm already paying for an older charge, and I am not on probation

answered on Jan 19, 2020
Likely not, as most people are not put in jail for tickets. That being said, as long as you are still paying towards your older charge, you should still be good to go. As to the car accident, I would encourage you to reach out to a lawyer, as you may be entitled to compensation if the other driver... View More

It really depends. Sometimes, a prosecutor may do away with the ticket because of the circumstances; however, there would need to be more information. I would highly encourage you to reach out to a criminal defense and personal injury to discuss further, not just for the ticket, but also for being... View More

You may want to consider contacting the local court and ask for the court clerk. Once you do that, then ask the clerk how much the fine would be.

A traffic ticket is not dischargeable in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
My question is the officer give me the date to appear in court
But instead of going there, can I call at the phone and accept the charge of those 3 tickets the total charge.
Or do I have to back to court in Mississippi .?

answered on Jul 21, 2019
Most counties in Mississippi will allow you to waive appearance and pay the tickets in full in order to avoid coming back to Mississippi. Depending on the circumstances, this could be an option for you. I would contact a Mississippi attorney to discuss this further.
Charges of possession with intent to sell within 1500 ft of a church ; consealed evidence with intent to impair official procedure; conspiring to sell controlled substance

These are pretty serious charges, that carry some hefty fines and jail time depending on the amounts involved. You should seriously consider contacting a criminal defense attorney to further discuss.

Unfortunately, this is something that is fairly common, where the trooper casts a net to pull multiple cars over. What makes it worse is that there is no obligation on their part to actually show you the radar.
I got in a wreck in my neighborhood with a car that was parked on the right side of the road facing forward with them in the car being completely stopped. Would it be my fault or theirs.

It could depend on what the parking regulations were, what the weather/visibility conditions were, the operation of your vehicle, and other factors. You could consult with an attorney in Mississippi who could examine the matter in further detail.

I was across from the officer at a 4 way stop I stopped and went the officer spun around as fast as I passed and said he pulled m over because of a hit on my tag he couldn't have read checked and heard that fast

answered on Sep 19, 2018
You may have cause to have it thrown out. I'd be curious to know if the officer cited you for any other reason than the tag, as well as the ultimate outcome once he ran the plates.
I was passing through Mississippi after hurricane Katrina hit. I have since forgotten about them. I live in Texas. And it is the only thing preventing me from getting my license here. Were you ever found not guilty or guilty? If not guilty, then you might could get an attorney to expunge them from your record, so that they will not pop up on a background check.
I have recently been paying fines on an old charge, misdemeanor traffic, now I have a new charge; and, a court date. What can I do?

answered on Sep 10, 2018
It applies no differently than if you were a millionaire. Since you have been charged with a new crime, if it carries the possibility of jail time, then you are entitled to a public defender or appointed counsel if you cannot afford one.

answered on Sep 10, 2018
There's a good chance that you have a warrant for your arrest for failure to show, assuming that a court date was set.
The officer said he used radar is he allowed to radar me in county and could it be a false reading because we were traveling opposite each other He was a state trooper

Certainly possible; however, given the facts as presented, you may have some ways to poke a hole in his allegation of speeding.
I was written a ticket for not stopping completely at a 4 way stop. The car in front of me went and I pulled forward. There was a car to my right that wen thru, then it was my turn again. I was stopped for 3-5 seconds.

You would need to be able to show that you don't own a car of that model.
It depends on the judge, but it could be enough based on incorrect information on the "affidavit" ticket.

Given the facts of your case, it sounds like you have a viable defense to the contempt charges. Your best bet is going to be to contact an attorney to delve into the facts a little more and to develop a plan of action to address the deficiencies before the Court.
Also the ticket does not show the color of the car.

answered on Jul 8, 2018
No, details concerning the model of the car is not considered to be substantively relevant towards dismissing a ticket.

Even though there has been a lag between the time of the tickets to now, you may be able to have the tickets tossed out due to failure to prosecute in a timely manner. My recommendation would be to contact a local attorney who can gather additional information and discuss the possibility of getting... View More

It always depends on the situation; however, the Court could impose late fees against you and, in extreme cases, loss of driving privileges or a bench warrant.

There are many reasons that a ticket can be invalidated. The form being incomplete is one of them. Tickets are intended to be Affidavits of what the officer saw. If the affidavit contains incorrect information or is incomplete, it may be thrown out.
