Yes, but you should seriously, seriously consider getting a lawyer: "Traffic violations are criminal acts that violate the rules of driving. . . . minor violations can have serious consequences if there are several infractions over a short period of time. These violations can lead to fines,... View More

Short answer: it's fate's way of saying reorder priorities. Help mom, don't look to her; means don't drive unless you have a license, and drive carefully. If the car was hers she may also get some penalty for haviing an uninsured vehicle.

What you will do is note each...

If the excluded driver wasn't driving they can't get all technical when the crash happens. Makes sense to talk to a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers who handles bad faith. In the meantime, confirm what they are doing--that they agree the car was driven by the person who had the policy;... View More

If you're going to court on the DWLI, get that dismissed and you'll stand a better chance of winning your probation revocation case.

not until he speaks with an attorney. Racing is a large point charge, big deal, not d.i.y. Look for a good criminal defense attorney.

Q: What kind of video / other evidence is necessary to successfully report reckless drivers?

Is it worth it to take dash cam video of drivers speeding, running red lights, driving recklessly, etc, and turning that video into police to have said person successfully cited? The idea is to have safe drivers report dangerous drivers. Perhaps something like this could send a message to drivers... View More

Lobby your municipality to have more intersection cams. However understand, intersection cams are expensive because of the significant storage that is required, and then staff to monitor, review, and erase or save. Beyond that, intersection cams don't prove speeding--nor would a dash cam.... View More

You need to talk to a texas attorney. Generally, a lot will depend on who hit who where. If you were all the way through and they rear end you maybe not. But understand they aren't a stealth car--they didn't come out of nowhere. You have a duty to be looking back over your shoulder as you... View More

Unlikely. law isn't set up for that--though you can get a payment plan. Big issue is if it's your fault you may get a suspension.

You need to talk to an attorney who handles license issues in the court that will hear your ticket.

Your guess is as good as mine; probably better, actually. No doubt the officer will explain at trial what he or she believes you did wrong, should you contest the ticket.

Probably not. But you have not given enough facts here, and should probably go to see a ticket lawyer about this for a full discussion.

Q: I received a ticket for an expired Driver License. The officer did not ask me to sign it. Will it get tossed?

I renewed the license in four days which, is within the court parameters for dismissal. I will go to court but, can I get out of the dismissal fee since the ticket is unsigned. It was issued by a Texas State Trooper.

The requirement that you sign it is mainly to prove that you did in fact get the ticket. Your appearance in court will prove that you know about it, so unless you want to risk not going to the hearing (and risking that a bench warrant is issued), no, I don't think the fact that you failed to... You need to get an attorney on your side. You cannot find an answer because there isn't one. You have already been prosecuted, you just were not there, you did not get notice, and it will take an attorney to try to set this aside.

There is most definitely a statute of limitations, and it is 2 years. However, if you have already paid it, you are out of luck. If you can contact the court, you may attempt to withdraw your plea, but payment applied to the ticket pretty much puts an end to the case and makes it a conviction.... View More

Cost of representation varies from place to place, who is representing you, and a host of other factors. If you are in a major metropolitan area, you can probably find an abundance of attorneys who handle traffic tickets on a very frequent basis for a fee lower than you might expect. Finding an...
