A couple months ago I was moving into a friends house and her pitbull and rottweiler attacked me. They got my arm, upper and lower part, pretty good with their teeth and then also on both side of my hip and sliced 2 of my fingers open. Luckily my friend had USAA so I did not have to sue her to pay... View More

You are going to get less money because you do not have a history of filing lawsuits and taking them to verdict. USAA knows this and bakes this into their settlement offer. Should you go hire a lawyer to get more money? I have no clue. But generally speaking, the value of having a lawyer rises... View More

Of course. About half of the medical malpractice lawsuits filed in Maryland are failure to diagnose claims.
We live in a mobile home park - what are my rights to the enjoyment of the premises? I just don't know when it's time to call a lawyer and do something. So far the manager has intervened.

That is a really hard question to answer without more details (which is probably why no one has answered it for you). But if you provide more details, I will try to give you a better answer.
if they're just covering to keep themselves safe from liability.

Not always. Bedsore can occur. The question is how the nursing home deals with the bedsores. It is rare that a significant life-threatening bedsore will occur in the absence of negligence.

You need to provide more information. But the answer is almost invariably going to be no.
I parked near a fire hydrant, but there is no yellow line and I left space for access to the hydrant.

No.
After a few weeks my landlord told us either one of us can move ot(neighbor or us) or we will both have our leases terminated. Can this happen?
answered on May 26, 2017
I can't imagine what the cause would be for terminating your lease. You not getting along with your neighbor is unlikely to be a condition in your lease. But the language of that lease will be controlling.
I had a contract with tenants to buy my home. Original agreement was a price based on an appraisal that I received with a hefty amount of closing help. The house did not appraise with buyers appraiser for the price we agreed on in the contract. We started exchanging conversation via email and I... View More

The emails are not going to be controlling. It is hard to answer a lot of these questions without actually seeing the contract. Is it standard contract used by a major realtor or did you draft it yourself? It sounds like you contract is voided by lack of performance but it is hard to speculate... View More

Tough question to answer without more facts. Why should she not have been walking alone? Did the nursing home assess her as a fall risk?
Usually, when these cases are won it is because the nursing home failed to follow their protocols (or what should have been their protocols) by... View More

There is no easy answer to this question. There is often a lag between bills and compensation. You can often get health care providers to hold off collection if you have a pending personal injury claim. But there are no guarantees.
Not on case search website. Is it because the court don't know if the defendants been served the lawsuit?
answered on May 26, 2017
Malpractice lawsuits are not on the case search website because they are filed in Health Claims and then typically transferred to Circuit Court. Do you have a lawyer? Why not just ask your attrorney?

I don't think someone putting money back into your account really requires your advice and consent. It does not limit you options to bring a claim in any way.
There are not enough facts to understand your claim and your options.
answered on May 26, 2017
No. Bad outcomes are not malpractice. Malpractice is when the doctor makes a mistake that causes injury.

We are going to need a lot more details to answer this question.

Yes. The demand does not limit a judge or jury's ability to award more.
Lawsuits in Maryland no longer have an "ask for" amount. The only reason to set a limit is have the claim heard in a specific court.

No. If your actions were entirely reasonable under the circumstances, you are not responsible for the victim's injuries. To be help responsible, you have to do something that a reasonable, prudent driver would not have done.

Probably not. The only exception I can think of would be if a court finds him unable to handle his own affairs.
If you are asking if you can serve as your brother's lawyer, the answer to that question would also be no... unless you happen to be a lawyer licensed in that jurisdiction.

Yes. But you need a significant injury to justify the expense of filing a medical malpractice claim.
Former attorney didn't file lawsuit. No information shows up when court clerk searches claim #. There is also another claim # (I think is filed with defendant's insurance). What does this mean?

Who knows? What were you told the status of the case is?
Did your lawyer say it was in suit? Do you have a copy of the Complaint? You can simply ask for it.
