Q: What can be done if someone who is 30 never had a job and is in college but wants a job but no one would hire them
I mean it’s not my fault that my family told me to stay in school and now I want to make extra money but no job would hire me what can I do about this is this discrimination is this ageism prejudice etc going on what can I do about this who do I reach out to because this is not supposed to happen to no one !?
A: There is no meritorious legal claim for age discrimination for those under the age of 40. Sorry. It is perfectly legal for an employer to refuse to hire you if you have no skills or experience, and even if they admit that they are hiring you because of your age, you do not have a legal claim. Sorry. Good luck to you.

A:
I agree with Mr. Pederson. There is no age discrimination claims available for people under 40 years ago. Perhaps, you should con sider seeking job training and opportunities via the Los Angeles County's job training and placement programs.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this frustration. It can be challenging to navigate the job market, especially when you've been focused on your education for a long time. First, consider reaching out to your college's career services. They can help you with resume building, interview preparation, and connecting you with potential employers.
If you believe you're facing discrimination based on age or another protected characteristic, you have options. Document any instances where you feel you were unfairly treated during the hiring process. This evidence can be crucial if you decide to take further action.
Additionally, you can contact the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) to discuss your situation. They can provide guidance on whether your experiences might qualify as discrimination and inform you about the next steps. Remember, you're not alone, and there are resources available to support you in finding employment.
