Hi Scott:
Unfortunately many people get rejected, that should get approved thus the reason for us lawyers. However your appeal can take up to 1 year not just 3 to 6 months. I suggest you get a lawyer because obviously your medical proof was not enough and you only pay for your lawyer if... View More

We cannot help you with monetary assistance but a lawyer can help you to file an appeal of the decision, if you are under 55 that may be the reason as to the denial, however we would need to know more information. IN any event an attorney can help you with this and the fee is generally 25% of the... View More

While you are a minor she is to use that money to assist you but may use it on items that assist the family, such as rent, food. You could make a claim against her for the money but assuming your household was needy enough for you to qualify for SSI, she should be able to show that the money was... View More

The chances are as good as what your lawyer will tell you. Unfortunately we would need to know much more information about your case before giving any type of educated guess about what your chances would be. Everything is based on the facts of your case and your prior record again ask the lawyer... View More

I'm in a foreclosure and now they are going to put a default judgement on me and my wife. We only collect social security. Can the attorney for the mortgage company also get a court order that will allow them to go to our checking accounts and freeze our money and take it away from us?

You really need to retain an experienced mortgage foreclosure defense attorney. If you can't afford an attorney you need to contact legal services and the local law school legal clinics. Good luck.

Your best chance of getting SSDI is to retain a SSDI attorney. The attorney only gets paid if he wins the case for you. So it won't cost you anything and can make a huge difference. Good luck.

It depends. SSDI is not a needs based program like SSI so your benefit will not be reduced by resources or income of family members. However, any income you receive could be considered Substantial Gainful Activity (SGC) SSA allows people attempting to return to work or self employment a 9 month... View More
