Why do you want to get deported? Why not just leave. You can always leave. If you get deported, there will be a time period you cannot come back.

You should hire an attorney to help you with this. One mistake could cost you years. It isn't worth trying to do it on your own. Are entirely undocumented? I ask merely because it should have been an issue getting a marriage license. The short answer to your question is yes, you could be subject to removal at any time even though you are married to a USC. There is paperwork that needs to be done to get you into a lawful... Ok. First off, a fourth degree misdemeanor is a less serious offense than a first or second, so you don't want to change an M4 to an M1 or M2. That's moving in the wrong direction. Second, you need to be working with a lawyer here. Any criminal entanglement can be a problem with... View More

I just want extra clarification and reassurance of my interpretation. Since I'm technically "legally residing" in the US, i assumed that would be different from saying "legal citizen," and thereforte I'm a "legal resident." I often run into this question when looking at scholarship elligibilities.
answered on Mar 27, 2015
If you live in the US and have a valid, in status visa, you are a legal resident. You are not a "lawful permanent resident." That is a green card holder. You are not a citizen.

answered on Mar 1, 2015
You have to maintain "continuous residence" for a period of time prior to filing an application. Absences of six months or more can interrupt. Provided you are not planning on being away for six months or more, and your previous trip was less than 6 months, this should not be a problem.... View More

A civil suit should not affect your admissibility; however, if you are sued and do not show up for court, the court will enter a default judgment against you and you will owe the 25K. Upon your return, the now very frustrated lawyers will claim you left the country to evade the judgment. The court... View More
