Tried to get a duplicate ID, as mine was destroyed, and found out there was a hold on my license from CO. Called and apparently I was issued a camera ticket 4 years ago. No letter was ever received, nothing. What can be done about this.

Your options are: pay the ticket or challenge the ticket in court.
Does the state of Texas protect me from these out of state, camera related traffic practices?
I've read all over the Internet that they cannot do that but nothing states whether or not that is true in Colorado I would like to know before I go and try to resolve it.

No, you cannot be charged for retrieving personal property from a repo-ed vehicle. The items cannot be removed or collected (up to a time limit of presumed abandonment). If it is a problem, send a certified letter requesting the materials back. If this fails, contact the state AG's office.
They are paid and from a while ago but hasn't been long enough for them to be off my Iowa record yet.

Yes and no. Colorado, like most states, only tracks current traffic infractions for instate violations for current state license holders. However, if you are required to provide your driving record, most places request a record for a period of years (usually 4-6 years). As a result, you will likely... View More

Sold a jeep to my ex. Her boyfriend rolled it a few times with no plates and no insurance. He had no permission to drive the jeep. Since I'm still technically the owner, am I liable for the impound fees and any damages he caused?

A lawyer will need to review all the specifics to make a determination. As a general rule, if the seller and buyer signed bill of sale AND the seller proceeded to remove the car from the seller's name (e.g. cancelling insurance, removing license plates, etc.) the liability should not pass to... I'm mostly asking about Colorado.
I know in California he could have records file a 41500 filing, but how would he do that in Colorado?
I'm NOT asking about sealing their record but clearing it up so they can get a license when they get out so they can earn a living.

Are you asking about sealing records? If so, Colorado does not allow traffic offenses to be sealed.

You will need to either pay the fine and/or have your case reviewed. If you go the review route, you may need an attorney in the county where the ticket was issued (an attorney will also allow you to not have to return to Colorado for most or all matters related to the ticket).
I purchased them from autozone not realizing they might be illegal in Colorado. Although they're slightly tinted the plate numbers and registration stickers are easily visible. The main reason I bought them is to prevent someone from stealing my registration sticker. Unfortunately I have been... View More

Colorado does not have a specific prohibition against covers, however, license plates and the registration stickers must be visible and without obstruction per Colorado law. This leaves a cover's legality to the discretion of the police officer. If you want to avoid a ticket, do not install a... View More
My fine is $270 and I was supposed to do 24 hour community service but I could not afford my ID nor my fine because I have to give my landlord. $4,000 before the sheriff comes and kicks me and my husband out

Every case is unique, but the following will likely occur. A warrant will be issued and the sentence may be modified to require jail time. If this involved a driving offense, your license will be revoked, and the waiting period for re-application will not begin until the sentence is served.
Will I be extradited back to Colorado (now in Wisconsin) for not reporting to jail to start my 4 month work release sentence? (Say after a random traffic stop/etc. here in WI)
The sentence was for being terminated (revocated) on probation for failing to follow terms for 1 year of probation... View More

If you are stopped it is very likely that the warrant will be found. The information about the warrant should note whether extradition from another state is sought. If so you will be held for extradition to Colorado. It is unusual, but not unheard, for a state to extradite a person for a... View More
I was just wondering because I thought the age of 18 you record got sealed from when you were a juvenile I got pulled over for no drivers license no registration no insurance and I never went to court for it

Traffic offenses are not sealed. I can only assume that a clerical error occurred or the police did not file the ticket. Tickets do not disappear after a period of time. You can investigate to see if the ticket is still recorded (and pay it) or you wait and see if anything happens. As a warning, if... View More
Was pulled over for suspended license. Never knew it was suspended, and then found out it was because of a miscommunication between the court and dmv so they reinstated it. My court date is in 2 days should i be worried
answered on Apr 11, 2017
If the suspension was an error, you will need to prove the error occured at the hearing.
answered on Apr 10, 2017
Contact the CO DMV to see what was the cause for the license suspension. First you must clear the cause of the suspension. There is usually a wait time and you have to take the written test (and occasionally the driving test) again.
I need to know where to look for this information? Its obviously a fact that judges and cops profit off of traffic tickets. How can I find the information about the particular court where I need to appear?

Colorado does not work from a fines pay for the legal system model. Judges/magistrates are paid a fixed salary by the State of Colorado regardless of the number of cases that are processed (or not). Some police departments follow a quota system for officers generating tickets. The financial... View More
The fine is out of Morgan County fore $180 in 2000. I came home to a letter from the Colorado DMV saying if it wasn't paid by May they would revoke my license. It is not the original fine that is the issue, it is the non-payment that is the problem. Your license can be revoked for non-payment of fines. It is possible that you did not receive notice prior to the letter, but you clearly have notice now. If you did not receive proper notice you can request... View More

If you want to not use a lawyer, you will first need to contact the applicable police department about settling the warrant. Before you call the contact the courts,... View More

answered on Mar 27, 2017
It is possible for a judge to require jail time for a traffic violation. While this practice is subject to legal challenge in some states (usually via ACLU challenges), there is not clear rule preventing the practice. The warden has no power to nullify a sentence without a court order or... View More

Yes, citations can--and are--posted after the incident. For most traffic violations, the applicable police agency has up to 1 year to report the incident. If the citation occurs after the police stop, you should receive a registered letter to the address listed on your driver's license. Note,... View More
