You appear to be asking whether a child support order from a court in Puerto Rico "is the same" as child support orders from other states and territories of the United States. It would depend on what you mean by "the same".

Child support is modifiable in Florida until the children reach eighteen or otherwise emancipate. Likewise you have the right to go back to court to enforce your timesharing rights.

Have you spoken with mom and dad about temporary custody? It doesn't sound like you are biologically related to the children. Where are mom and dad's parents? You should consult with a local attorney regarding your options.

More information is needed to formulate an answer to your statement! For example, what is the effective date on your support order? Are you being charged arrears? I suggest you consult with a local attorney to help you figure it out. Good luck!

Based on the information you provided, my interpretation is that the department was in the process of submitting a DL suspension to the FL DHSMV. However,... View More

You don't give much information; what does what mean? A lawsuit is started by service of notice (process) on the defendant (the person being sued). If you have been defaulted, you must have failed to do something (such as filing a response to the complaint filed against you). A default... View More

I know nothing about a child conceived 12yrs ago

742.021(2) has to do with determination of paternity. Without seeing the letters, I'm assuming someone is claiming you are the biological father of a child and you are being sued for child support.

Has the child's mother objected to your claiming the child as a dependent? If not, if you are paying child support pursuant to a court order, and the order is silent regarding who may claim the child, what you have been told is correct: you don't have to pay the mother a portion of your... Q: What is considered as a child “in need” of daycare ?

Current agreement says “as long as child is in need of daycare” I no longer need him to go to daycare as they don’t either when she can be with me. However they want me to continue paying for half for the two days when he could be spending that time with me.

"As long as child is in need of daycare" is rather vague. If the child is in daycare and you have contracted to pay half, then you have an obligation to pay your half. If there is no daycare expense, you should not have to pay. If you and the other party are able to communicate, you... View More

You should definitely get an attorney to help you collect on the money that you are owed. The court can order the father to get a job "on the books", they can order sanctions and contempt, they can order incarceration if he does not pay. Simply allowing him to get away with it,... View More

Jean Richardson

Why don't you sell the property and pay your current and future child support? Child support is typically paid with currency. Sounds like you're not paying through the state. If that is the case, if the other parent is willing to accept the property and convert it into cash for child... View More

I’d be very surprised if a NJ child support judgment could reach a FLORIDA criminal bail bond, particularly when you’re not even the depositor. The fines and costs they’re talking about relate to the criminal case you’re out on bond for.

When my ex wife and I got divorced she didnt have a job and child support was calculated at a low pay rate. Now she has a management position and I actually make a little less. It wont be a year since the divorce was finalized until July. Is it too early to file to modify child support?

Child support is always modifiable. You should consult with a local family lawyer and have them do a preliminary calculation using the new incomes to see if pursuing a modification is worthwhile.
