Sorry for your pain. But I hope you have at least learned a very important lesson that all too many divorced parents never learn: that ALL parents are responsible for and must support all their children--until the children reach the age of 18. Period.

All parents who shirk their parental...

Do you mean you have a child support lien which was paid off with the stimulus check? If your lien was over $1,200.00 then you will not receive anything.

Q: The FL DOR stated to me they are NOT participating in stimilulus deferment. Is this true and does Treasury override?

I receive a minimum SSDI income, and have one dependent child. I also have one 21yo son for whom I am responsible for arrearages in the state of FL. The arrearages are deducted automatically via ssdi garnishments and have been made every month to include payments prior to his 18th bday since 2012,... View More

Sorry, but as I understand it the stimulus checks will be subject to child support garnishments, in the same way that income tax refunds are.

In calculating the amount of child support you will be required to pay, the child support you owe on account of the other children will be taken into account. Just be sure they know about the other children.

Contact the IRS about filing an injured spouse form. It appears that the form has not yet been updated to deal with stimulus checks, so either fill it out as best you can, or ask them for clarification.

Did the court approve the child support of $50.00? If no, you need to hire a family law attorney to get a court order for the proper amount. If yes, then there is nothing you can do because the court has ordered the $50.00. You can request a modification, but child support is statutory calculation... View More

Q: What happens when you dont include asserts in a financial affidavit

Not including car spending $112 on groomingp

"Car spending" and "grooming" are not assets. Those are expenses.

Regardless, if the financial affidavit is sworn to, intentionally lying on the affidavit constitutes a crime. My suggestion is to seek a family law attorney's advice and hire them to properly respond to discovery.

Q: Florida won't collect my child support order since I moved here. It's been 8 years of no support as they dropped it

They said they can't find dad. I gave them all but where he works. Social, original court order, date of birth, paternity test and address. Florida said not good enough

Sounds like you being entitled to eight years of back child support makes your case important enough to encourage you want to hire an experienced lawyer to find your ex--and stop waiting for Florida. Florida will still be here to collect for you--after you finally find the father of your children.

I am confused. Are you saying that your total child support lien was $50.00 starting in 2001? How have you not paid that off in nearly 19 years?

If you only owe a minimal amount I presume that once the lien is satisfied, any left over will be sent to you from the stimulus check. If you...

The court will consider what has happened over the past four years when it decides on a timesharing plan for the child. Child support is a right of the child and will be ordered based on each parent's net... View More
