Q: Can you live in one state but get support in another state?

My child's father pay childsupport for a child that use to live in Mississippi when the child was born but now lives in Virginia and has live there for about 5 or more now. Is that ok?

Yes. There is a uniform child support compact between the states to collect child support.

You need to consult with a child support attorney because your question is very confusing. Subsequent child support orders do not affect the earlier child support order.

You keep paying child support until the child is 18 or graduates from high school, whichever comes last. But not past age 19.

Print any texts or emails. Get copies of all police reports and convictions. Get spreadsheet from Support Enforcement showing how much child support he owes, then hire a custody lawyer if you get served.

Your attorney needs to file. Motion to terminate you as payor, set you as recipient & do set off for arrears you owe.

Unless you file a Petition to Disavow and to terminate, then yes you have to pay until he turns 18 or graduates from high school.

No such program but you can pay your arrears in lump sum. Hire a child support attorney to negotiate a settlement amount.

Yes, they want the State or custodial parent to be paid back. They are not looking to put people in jail or out of work.

No but income will imputed to both parents unless the child of the custodial parent is less than 5.

You can hire a custody lawyer to file for filiation and joint custody. Then if she refuses you time with your child, you can hold her in contempt. This will also get you added to the birth certificate.

Whether the state or a private lawyer represents the recipient, the arrears are only available back to the date child support was originally requested and then no more than 10 years.

The only way you can change your child's name is with the other parent's consent or if your spouse adopts.

Yes. Support Enforcement will be represented by an Assistant District Attorney, and you should have a lawyer also.

No, Support Enforcement is not traffic court. Your attorney cannot waive your appearance. However, your attorney can file a Continuance.
