If he is only charged with speeding he can just pay the ticket and not show up for court. At that time the "bond" (what he paid) with be forfeited and the case will be over. Do I have to appear if I pay it online
answered on Mar 19, 2021
If you pay the ticket before the court date you are not required to appear. That being said, they will accept the payment of the ticket (bond) and adjudicate you guilty and send that to the DMV to assess points on your license. It might be worth speaking with an attorney in that area that would be... View More
I haven't had a ticket in 15 years. I was heading to work. Passed a car moving slowly ( I thought 15 under apparently they were 10 under). When I passed the individual I must not have decreased speed. Not justifying my actions as correct, but I was distracted due to a work situation. The... View More

Depending on what agency wrote the ticket you can reach out to that agency directly. It it was the Sc Highway Patrol you cal also reach out to the officer’s post to leave a message for a call back. The posts and numbers are listed on the Highway patrol’s website. The other alternative would be... View More

The ticket will say if attendance in court is required or if you can just pay the ticket.
The cop said hed give him a ticket for 56 in a 55. My son said he was driving in the right lane behind trucks and his car couldn’t go 93 if it wanted to. Can he fight the ticket? It’s 2 points and 76$ fine

There are ways to fight any ticket but until you or an attorney receive all of the discovery from law enforcement there is no way to answer your question. It might be worth reaching out to an attorney in the area where the ticket was written to advise you.

For simple possession of marijuana the minimum fine after all required assessments is $407.50 and the maximum fine is $615.00. Don't forget that simple possession of marijuana 1st offense also carries jail time of up to 30 days along with the fine. I would highly recommend speaking to an... View More

You should call a local injury lawyer and discuss your case with them. Even if the ticket was dropped, you may still be at fault for the accident in a civil case. The criminal court and the civil court are two different worlds. Your case involves a very fact specific inquiry. It is possible... View More

How does 2 pts affect insurance in SC? Is it worth it to try and fight the points or just be happy the trooper decreased the points from 4 to 2 and since I’ve paid just go on my way? It is my first ticket ever
answered on Dec 7, 2019
The minimum points on any speeding ticket is two points. The judge does not have the authority to drop them any lower. Your insurance can take the conviction into account but that really depends on your carrier.
The trooper decreased the ticket from 4pts to 2 and 20miles down to 10miles. I just paid the fee of $75 online. My question is the ticket online says no court appearance required but the back part of the ticket talks about "If you fail to post bond or personally appear in court on the... View More

The fine you paid is the bond amount, so you do not need to appear in court. You have already taken care of the matter responsibly. Best of luck!
After charged dus 2nd non dui. I fixed it with dmv but missed court date i don't have a dus 1st can i still be charged 2nd? Offense

You will need to contact the court first thing Monday morning and ask to reopen your case if you were tried in your absence.
There is a chance if this was your first court date and you did not have an attorney your case was continued.
is there a way I can go about not paying the ticket if I already have insurance
answered on Nov 24, 2019
If you were found guilty in your absence you can ask that your case be reopened by going to the court with a letter requesting that the case be reopened. It is within the courts discretion to reopen the case.
