I let my friend drive my car to pick me up from a party. I was extremely intoxicated. He got pulled over and had weed in the car. He claimed ownership over it and let the officer know it was his. The officer gave him a possession charge. My question is can I get charged after the fact as it was my... View More

Technically, yes. However, the facts as you have provided them might not create probable cause to charge you with possession. The existence of weed in your car without you, does not on it's own, meet the definition of the crime. With that said, if the prosecutor's office has reason to... View More

If it is Federal - almost impossible. If it is a Utah felony conviction, hard, but possible for most convictions depending on the felony.

An attorney looking at these facts might ask for further details. A Utah attorney who handles such matters could examine all statements/written evidence from you and the merchant to determine whether the elements of fraud, as alleged by the merchant, were met.

I'm currently out on bail. I accepted a plea deal and my sentencing is on the 15th of October. I am in the middle of moving locations and I may need more time to finish the process.
Under what circumstances am I able to delay my sentencing date?

That;s like asking the status of the current law on search and seizure. Yes people get prosecuted. You need to specify exactly what you want in order to get a specific answer.
I'm currently out on bail. I have accepted a plea deal and I'm waiting on sentencing in about 45 days. I'm contemplating moving to a different county. Will I serve my time in the first county jail or the second county jail?

Generally you must serve time in the county facility where you are sentenced.

Your attorney is the one to get your side of the story. That is their job. Only the police can press charges.

An attorney would need much more information on this issue to advise you. Call a local defense attorney for a consultation.

You need to consult directly with an attorney. Your facts are not sufficient to understand what occurred. Moreover, you have one long run-on sentence so it is virtually impossible to parse
I was in the store waiting for my husband. I was on the phone with the bank. I got up and picked up a water bottle. I sat down and stayed on the phone with the bank. While on the phone I removed the label on the water bottle and put it in my purse. It wasn’t hidden. I also put the label... View More

Unfortunatley yes, you can still be charged. Based on what you are saying the store would have several reasons to believe you had the intent to steal the item.
Luckily, there are always possible defenses and/or ways to mitigate damages.

You don't get to chose your public defender. However if you want to go to trial they must respect that decision and do the trial. You are always free to hire your own attorney as well.
