Q: I am 16 and from ohio, my friends sometimes buy me stuff is my step mom allowed to open my mail if its not hers?

Yes. Whether or not she has any custodial rights over you, your father can certainly open your mail. He can then delegate that right to your step mom, so she can also open it without permission.

Check out http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2325.18 for general information regarding reviving dormant judgments and how long a creditor is allowed to revive it each time it goes dormant.

Q: how do i get my name off a joint loan with ex husband

my name is on a joint loan with ex husband. how do i get my name off. he's ruining my credit by not paying. divorce decree stated he is solely responsible for repayment.

Generally speaking, a refinance of the loan or sale of the property are the only ways to get a name off a loan if the bank is unwilling to do it voluntarily. A call to the bank is always a good first step, then to the divorce attorney who helped with the divorce.
