One of my coworkers got mad and threw a piece of metal at me at work, and it hit me. Is there a way to sue for that?
answered on Dec 17, 2021
More than likely, this would be something that is covered by worker's compensation. Your best bet is going to be to get with a workers comp lawyer to go over the details of what happened, as well as to discuss the nature of your injuries.
Saw finally in 2021 portal I had 2 lab tests flagged to point I had hypothyroidism in 2016! He never discussed or diagnosed me with it! It wasn't until 2018 when I had thyroid storm and another doctor had to diagnose me with hypothyroidism.

It really depends on the circumstances. If the doctor diagnosed and the did not advise, then it would depend on whether there was a follow-up where the doctor could inform the patient of the diagnosis.

It would severely weaken the prosecution's case; however, it does not necessarily make it go away. What ultimately happens depends on the facts and circumstances that occurred, as well as what is presented at trial.

Typically, you or your attorney can get a copy of your discovery by formally requesting it from the other side, at which point the other side is obligated to provide a copy.

In Mississippi, there really is no money requirement for it to be considered robbery. All that is required is taking something from someone's person by violence or threat of violence.
After I was taken away my exgf, who's invitation was recended to my home... used a non authorized key.... She stole 2 phones and an I pad that was basically new all individually worth over $500 and I want to discredit her as well due to the fact she's a habitual liar and a theif...

From the looks of it, you have a case that should go to trial, particularly given the circumstances of her entering your home. Your best bet is going to be to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney to walk through the facts and circumstances of what happened, especially when it comes to... View More
Conservator took money out of her ward's bank account without telling her. When ward checked bank balance, she noticed money missing. conservator stated that she needed to borrow it and told her ward, "Don't worry, I will replace it".
answered on Dec 3, 2021
A conservator is supposed to act in the best interest of the ward, which means that a bank account that belongs to the ward should not be used as a source of funds for the conservator, even if the conservator is using it as a loan.

It's not illegal simply to ask that it be removed. Sometimes, the trooper is willing to work with people, but it all depends on the trooper and the circumstances.
a ticket out
answered on Dec 3, 2021
Long story short, the police officer can keep the traffic ticket in active status until the person ends up going to court, even if it is until May.
answered on Dec 3, 2021
Can the officer just sit there waiting on other people to drive by? Likely not. Typically, they should remain on public property. That being said, if they pursue someone onto private property, then they are allowed to go onto the private property.

From the sounds of it, the best thing for your girlfriend would be to go before the judge and explain that she was unable to appear due to being detained elsewhere, as well as provide documentation showing where she was and how long she was there.
I was pulled over for speeding. I was going 45 in a 45mph zone. The officer claimed I was in a 35mph zone and wrote my ticket for 49mph in a 35mph zone. I pointed out to him that day before the ticket that I was not in a 35mph zone and he got an attitude. I didn’t argue but instead accepted the... View More

Assuming that the ticket has the location on it, as it should, one of the things that you can do is take a picture of the signs indicating what the speed limit is, and perhaps cross reference it with Google Maps.
Ticket has no name, address, vehicle info, court date, signature or anything. Officer said it was for expired tag. Is it valid at all?? What am I supposed to do with a blank ticket???
answered on Nov 24, 2021
If it is blank, then it does not have the legally required information on it to be considered a valid ticket. That being said, you may want to double check and see if there is a court date for your daughter, just in case the officer does submit something.
Need to know what are the options. Also charged with dui after making it to station they blowed him instead of when they stopped him.
answered on Nov 18, 2021
Likely it will not be dismissed, as those are minor details; however, they can certainly be used to show that the officer was not doing their job properly. From the looks of it, though, the major thing that you should be concerned about is the DUI, as the penalties on that are much harsher.
answered on Nov 18, 2021
Potentially yes. You will need to make sure that you show the court that your tag was not actually expired when you received the ticket.

It is certainly possible for them to lessen the charges in exchange for your cooperation; however, in situations like those, it is still best to have a lawyer make sure that they stay committed that arrangement.
He has served 2 years and 7 months, his eligibility date was July 22, 2021 but his file still hasn't been reviewed. I've called the parole board several times and they tell me they will put him on the add on docket but haven't done that yet. He hasn't been in any trouble since... View More

There is no time limit or expiration when it comes to reviewing his eligibility for release, and they would notify him in writing if there was a denial. In light of the recent changes to the law governing parole eligibility, there is a very good likelihood that the board has not yet had an... View More
Will there be a warrant out for his arrest or will he be summoned to court?
answered on Nov 16, 2021
It really depends on the judge. Your husband's best bet is going to be to contact the circuit clerk's office and determine whether the judge issued a warrant or summons for him to appear.
Did the law change for nonviolent habitual offenders to get parole
answered on Nov 15, 2021
No, unfortunately, with the way that the habitual law works in Mississippi, if a person is convicted as a habitual offender, then they serve a day-for-day sentence.
answered on Nov 15, 2021
No, it does not. With the way that the habitual law works in Mississippi, if a person is convicted as a habitual offender, then they are not eligible for any type of early release.
