Possession is 9/10 of the Paez. Don’t bring him back but do make sure he is neutered and chipped by your vet, has all his shots and is registered in your name.

Get the dogs vet records showing you had ownership of him and take the police with you to retrieve him. You should also file a criminal complaint against him for theft.
I live in a mobile home that I rent. Depends on whether your lease allows you to have animals at all. If it doesn’t, he can evict you. If it does, then you have to get to the terms under which you can have him and whether they can prove any attack occurred.

Depends on who owns the fence the cat was perched on but yes, you may have some liability.

No. Unless he has vet records or some other indices of ownership.... the cat belongs to you. Possession is 9/10 of the law.

Unless you have information about the dog or can find his owners, there’s probably nothing you can do.

Possession and vet records should do the trick. Possession is 9/10 of the law and vet records are the other 1/10.

Yes. You have recourse. Get all your payments together and present them to the children. If they don’t reimburse you or give you the dogs, you may have to file suit for your money.

Obviously, if you could get the dog back, problem solved. If you cannot get the dog back, there’s really nothing she can do to you. She had the opportunity to get him back when you told her and couldn’t so her window has closed.

Other owner is responsible for his dogs injuries by virtue of violating the leash law just as you would have been liable for your dogs injuries bc he was off leash if he had been injured.
