There are no court appointed attorneys in child custody cases. You can apply for a pro bono attorney through your county's legal aid office.

Q: In Georgia, how do I respond to a request from my former husband to inspect my house? He has been violent in the past.

I have an order barring my former husband from coming onto my property because of his past violence and threats of further violence. Now he has petitioned the court to permit him to inspect the house to determine its value under O.C.G.A. §§ 9-11-34(a)(2). I do not object to having an appraiser... View More

Any response must be e-filed with the clerk and sent to his attorney. Go to the family law division in Fulton County for assistance. He will be allowed to have an appraiser come to the house. Once the appointment is set, just have someone at the house with you for your security.... View More

Accident is a defense to criminal charges but the attorney will need more information to see if that would be a viable defense in your particular case. Now the fact that it's your"exes" mailbox may pose a little bit of an issue (especilly if you don't live close by)

Many attorneys, and I’m assuming local to you too, provide free consultations. Also, check with the local legal aid. Child custody situations can be stressful, but a competent local attorney can ease the stress. Good luck.

You need to contact an experienced family law attorney to help you with your case. I'm sorry for all that you have been through. There probably will not be a monetary settlement for the last 14 years, but you can at least end the marriage and move forward.

You can but since you don't control whether the state presses charges, a valid objection by the state would bar your testimony about your opinion on the charges.

You need to consult a criminal defense attorney to discuss your options in defending against these allegations. In some cases, spousal immunity may apply if your wife chooses not to testify against you.

Not likely. If it was directed at you, or done to harm you, it could be domestic violence. More likely you should report this to the police as animal cruelty.
