Q: In warren county is there a law about letting dogs poop on other people property

I'm renting property my neighbors walk there dog in the middle of my yard letting the poop have witnessed it what can I do legally

You can call animal control or file a complaint for trespass.

Q: My neighbor has two pit bulls and I have a three year old who plays in the front yard and I am very afraid. No leash.

The dogs just roam freely and yes they have been in my yard. I have observed them pooping in my yard and didn't get it until I asked them to. But.They took their time.

Next time they are loose, call Animal Control. I would keep the child inside unless you are outside with him until the dog situation is resolved.

Q: How do we assume ownership of a dog from a homeless owner who refuses to sign the dog over to us?

Owner was evicted from apartment and homeless, we were asked to keep the dog temporarily. We are the best home for the dog as current owner is unstable and cannot provide for the dog.

You cannot assume ownership from him unless he signs over or gives the dog to you. Regardless of who may be able to provide the best home, the homeless man still owns the dog.

Q: We live in Rowan Co. Ky. The people here do not keep their dogs up. My wife has been told by doctors-she is paranoid.

is it legal for her to carry and use dog repel spray?

Yes. It is. It is the owners obligation to maintain control of his or her dog.

if there is no lease, he can give you 30 days notice to leave, no reason necessary.

There are no lemon laws in Kentucky regarding animals. Basic contract law controls. 2. Kentucky should have jurisdiction since you are here and the dogs are here. Q: My dog was killed by pitbulls. Had to be in court to testify. I showed up but owner didn't. Do they now have a warrant?

If they were prosecuting owner in a criminal case and they didn’t show, then yes, there probably is a warrant. If it is a civil case, you should have gotten a judgment. You should hire a civil lawyer to sue the owner of the pit bulls.

No, but you may run into problems of proving what happened. File a police report for starters. If you have collision let your company cover it and go after the dog owner.

Not unless your dogs are violating the law. Keep him away from them nd you should be fine.

Q: A family member brings her dog on my property and In my home after being told not to. What can I do to put a stop to it?

I have told her several times the dog isn’t welcome in my house but she continues to bring it with her anytime she is here. I want to know what, if anything, can legally be done to put a stop to this

You can go to the County Attorney's office and take a criminal complaint from Criminal Trespass onto your property.

You should consider suing the owner as the pet clearly wasn’t fit for I’m the implied purpose which they held him out to be. You can likely recover in small claims court.

Very sorry for your loss. Whether you can recover from breeder depends on contract you signed with them. The contract will dictate what your rights are vs the breeder.

If the animal is running free on your land and you can’t trap it and turn it over to animal control, it may be permissible to shoot the dog if it is damaging your property, although I’d want conclusive proof of the damage first so as to avoid being sued for wrongfully killing the animal.

All cities and counties have animal licensing ordinances to some degree. You can obtain a copy by going to the city clerks office in your town.
