Yes, by virtue of the fact that he was loose (regardless of how that happened). She will have to pay for the surgery and the neutering if she wants him back.

Q: The lady that found my lost dog won't give her back until we pay her. Is this legal?

We don't have papers for her because she was a stray before I claimed her. She is demanding $2000 and the original reward was &25.

Pay her, get the dog back, then take your dog and have her microchipped and registered so this does not happen again.

Q: If dogs were found in a state of neglect after the owner had a medical issue, can the owner be asked to leave apartment

The dogs had clearly been neglected for months before the medical incident. We have some photos and did call Metro Servies so the neglect was reported. The police were not called as far as I know.

Q: I got diagnosed with PTSD after a particularly vicious dog attack. I'm afraid to leave my house because I have panic

attacks now whenever I see someone walking their dog. Can I sue the attacking dog's owner for emotional distress?

You should probably be able to yes as long as you have scientific proof of your suffering, damages. Also as of 2013, KY is no longer strictly an impact state. Osborne v. Keeny. This information is not intended as legal advice.

Q: what can a rescue do to me if I broke the contract and gave the dog away?

They can sue you for breach of contract and obtain a judgment against you. You should get the dog and turn it over to the rescued.

You need to sue you neighbor for “killing” your dog. That will get you the answers you seek.

Q: My neighbors are throwing their dogs feces into a public road is that illegal in kentucky?

Q: I was given a dog from someone, who it was given to them by the original owners. Now the originals want it back?

A woman gave me a dog who I have taken to the vet, been caring for for 3 days, and provided for. The dog was given to her by the oringal owners. Now the original owners want the dog back. If they gave it to the woman who gave it to me, do I have to give it back?

You can file a criminal complaint for nuisance. They are entitled to use their property too, but they can’t be out at all hours of the night barking and bothering everyone. They need to take the dogs in for good in the early evening.

Switch veterinarians. Vet records don’t resolve disputed ownership and the new vet won’t know about the disputed. You have the dog and possession is 9/10 of the law.
