There is no harm in requesting a trial and going to court. The judge will watch the video and hear your testimony. You have possible defenses to the charge.
My license was in GA and I have since got the suspension lifted and have started converting my license to MD. That said, I do not have the funds to fix my insurance prior to my court date and really think I need to request a continuance to get the funds to fix this as well as perhaps hire a lawyer.

You are wise to seek a continuance and hire an attorney. You can ask for a postponement in open court if your case is today. If it is next Tuesday, you can file a motion for postponement electronically through MDEC.

You can request a trial and go to court. You can provide proof that you had the stickers, but did not put them on the car. It is still a violation, but the judge may cut you a break.

Do the driver improvement program now and get your license reinstated. You should retain counsel to represent you since the offense carries possible jail time and the VOP also could lead to jail time. If you get your license reinstated, there is a good chance an attorney can keep you out of jail.
