Based on the information you've provided, it seems there is some confusion and inconsistency in how the Maryland Vehicle Administration (MVA) is interpreting and applying the Real ID Act and relevant Maryland statutes. Let me try to clarify a few key points:

1. The federal REAL ID Act...

Q: How should I proceed when getting a parking ticket in a spot that was not clearly labeled as Handicap space.

I was rushing to park in DC by the National Building Museum for work, parking in a spot that was not clearly labeled as Handicapped,

as the meter with the handicap marker was broken with the zone # on the side, I paid online instead. Please advise if you can help me avoid payment of the $500 fine.

You can request a trial and go to court. You can provide proof that you had the stickers, but did not put them on the car. It is still a violation, but the judge may cut you a break.

The "B" restriction is corrective lenses.

The "J" restriction is "Other" so you would need to contact the MVA to see the restriction in your case.

If you have been charged with a crime, you should retain counsel to represent you. If not, you need to remove it from your vehicle right away. You should seek legal advice about what to do with it.

These charges carry possible jail time. You should retain an attorney to represent you. Do not pay any of the tickets. An attorney should be able to keep you out of jail if you have no prior record.

Not guilty does not necessarily mean you were not responsible. So this question cannot be answered without knowing all of the facts. But the not guilty does not necessarily release your potential liability

You cannot clear this up without going to court. She should request a trial within 30 days of the ticket and go to court. She should bring proof that her registration is valid and the emissions test. She should be acquitted under these facts.

The vehicle turning left in your scenario must yield the right of way to the vehicle coming in the opposite direction and making the right turn. The vehicle making the left turn is at fault for the accident.

Contact an attorney right away. This offense carries possible jail time and points. If you have a good driving record, jail is unlikely and an attorney should be able to keep the points off your record. You should also get your car insured before court which will make a big difference.

Q: Is there a right to a speedy trial for a traffic violation (running a red light)? It has been 2 years and no court date

I was told a traffic camera shows I did not stop at a red light. I have requested a court date however it has been over 2 years and a court date has not been set. Can I request the violation be dismissed due to the length of time for a court date? This is in Maryland, Prince Georges County

You can make a speedy trial argument, but you are supposed to demand the speedy trial for the clock to start ticking on your speedy trial rights. Having said that, there is no harm in making the argument. Any delays brought on by Covid will be excused.

Q: Can i go inside the bank with my ID if i have a bench warrant
Scott Scherr

answered on Sep 7, 2022

It is unlikely you would be picked up on a bench warrant by going into a bank, but you never know. There are no guarantees.

Your best bet is to consult with an attorney to see if the warrant can be recalled. In some cases, an attorney can file a motion to quash a warrant.
