It snows in Michigan and you are supposed to be going slowly enough that you can stop without hitting anyone--which is why you got the ticket. As to the no proof of insurance, as it's not your car how could you have proof of insurance? If you have insurance on your own car presumably you... View More

Q: Can I be sued in Michigan for hitting a building, if it's my fault?

I hit a building and it's my fault (negligent in parking lot, no drugs or alcohol involved). Can my insurance company deny the building owner's claim? Can the building owner (or their insurance company) sue me for damages?

The answer is "yes" to both your questions. Although I'm not sure why the insurance company would deny a valid claim unless they were denying coverage for any number of reasons found in your contract with them. In which case the building owner could certainly sue you personally.

Q: Q: Can I be sued in the event that a leased vehicle I cosigned for Is involved in an accident?

I will be cosigning for a lease vehicle for someone who has a poor credit score.

MY name will appear on the vehicles registration with the owners. This individual will be carrying their own and only auto insurance on the vehicle.

Usually only the driver is sued; if you cosigned you aren't necessarily a registered owner. If you are, you need to make sure insurance is on that vehicle.

There were class actions under which uber had to pay for insurance for you drivers. If you had collision, run it through that. As to their manager--his property, you can sue the company in small claims.

Your question was cut off at the end, but your conduct, should you be accused of leaving the scene of an accident, demonstrates every intention of reporting it after you realized there was damage. If you are accused, contact an attorney. Ask the rep from the insurance company with whom you spoke to... View More

Is it possible you inadvertently uploaded this to the wrong category? There is a Child Support section here; a car accident attorney is not likely to be able to meaningfully answer your child support question. Good luck

You could ask for one if there is something very acrimonious in the chemistry in your working relationship. But for the most part, the role of a claim rep is adversarial to the claimant. The claim rep is not there to be a mentor or friend. Claim reps are highly intelligent, analytical, and... View More

Yes. The person is likely suing you in small claims for what's commonly called "mini-tort", asking you to pay the deductible they had to pay or had subtracted from what their insurance paid out. The insurance company will hold you personally responsible for the total amount they had... View More

Leaving the scene of an accident is a 6 point violation, which is as big as they get. it's unlikely that a car dealer will sell to you alone, without an adult, because minors may void a contract until their 18th birthday. But, if they do, the dealer will apply for the plate for you.
