Q: As long as I don't say names of ppl, places or their age in a video about a teacher can I get in any kind of trouble?

I want to make a story time video about this teacher in my school but I also don't want to get in trouble. As long as I keep their name, age, name of the school and my friends (basically no information about my school or related to my school) can they legally suspend me or get me in trouble?

Q: If I want to sue my child's school district do I file in court or with some other office first?

The word "suit" means a case in a court. Whether you can sue depends on what your claim is for. Some issues require administrative action first. As you did not say anything, no one can know by your post.

Q: Can a lawyer help me put together an IEP for my 10 year old son?

The answer is yes and no. A lawyer can assist at a CSE, but you will need your own psychoeducational evaluation which will recommend what goes into an IEP. Only the school district "puts together" an IEP. My guess is you do not really understand the process.

Q: My daughter is getting bullied at her school and the teacher won't do anything about it. Is it legal to bring spy camera

Sometimes the kid lies, so I want to make sure she's honest of what she said and what the teacher really do after my daughter told her that she's being bullied by her classmates.

Why not talk to an education law project in new york--they've probably been down that road. Involving the kid in this may give rise to other issues. On the general problem a great organization is www.fellowshipfarm.org

Throughout high school, I had a football coach/teacher who committed a wide variety of disturbing and cruel acts. Sounds like a nasty piece of work. However, generally can't sue after the statute of limitations. You have until your 21st birthday (3 years after your 18th). So if you are 18-20 yes, if you are 21 and up doesn't look like it--but why not get a free consult from a member of the NYState... View More

Good question. The teacher may have had the right to take your phone, if you were using it in violation of the school rules, but deleting things would seem to be unnecessary. You probably should discuss this with the principal or school board.

Get an attorney. Actual help cannot come out of your computer to you, unless you find a criminal defense attorney on the internet and then go to see that attorney and retain him or her.
