I have to take a law to fight or just pay my ticket have 15 days
answered on Feb 7, 2021
Not sure what the question is. If you ignore the ticket, your driver's license will be suspended in both NY and NJ. If you pay the ticket in NY you will have a record of conviction in both NY and NJ. Do you want to fight the ticket?

That's a fire hydrant violation. You parked/stopped your vehicle within the prohibited distance of a fire hydrant. Fine only. Fine can be higher depending on several factors.

I was driving through AL on the road trip from TX back to NY for school. Do speeding camera tickets from Montgomery, AL affect your driver's license points? I've read that it's a municipal action which is corrected when paying a fine to the city of Montgomery. I've also read... View More

If the violation is a speeding charge only, New York does not usually assess points onto your driver’s license for the out-of-state violation (unless committed in particular places in Canada). It won't be likely that your insurnace company will learn of your speeding violation from AL.
He pulled me over said i was speeding ran my license and registration for about 45 seconds and then said he is letting it go and walked away. Should i expect anything in the mail or anything on insurance? Will this count towards anything and is it considered a verbal warning? or will anything be... View More

The NYS Criminal Procedure Law requires traffic tickets to be served on you personally. If a ticket is mailed to you (rare) it is dismissable. Drive safe.
Can I get the ticket dismissed as a city employee?

It could be worth discussing in more detail with an experienced traffic ticket attorney. Overall, there is a high level of positive sentiment and appreciation toward public transportation employees because of the risks they face in providing all of us with vital services 24/7 and keeping the City... Depending on the facts it sounds like you could have a very strong case. You'll want to consult with an attorney as soon as possible to go over the facts.

Why did you get pulled over? None of the tickets is a moving-violation. Dirty license plate? You can fight the tickets if the original traffic stop is illegal (and you will need a lawyer for this).
If not fighting, explain respectfully, without "I'm the victim, this is not... View More
In the violation part of the ticket it just says speeding over limit
So I was on the highway and was pulled over for speeding and failure to use turn signals and for my tints. The cop did not give me a ticket for speeding and gave me a ticket for failure to use turn signals and tints. If i plead not guilty and go to court can he bring up the fact that I was speeding... Signal violation (VTL 1163) is an independent violation. Unless you have also been charged with reckless driving (VTL 1212) or following too closely/tailgating (VTL 1129), etc, the fact of speeding itself will not be relevant to your signal violation.

The answer depends on the facts and circumstances of your case. Generally, a traffic stop/violation itself does not suffice for the officer to search your vehicle.
The ticket was issued in the town of Brant NY. I was in the left lane overtaking a vehicle in the right.
1) The trooper that issued the ticket set a date for 6 days from the issue date.
Is that allowed?
2) The NYS trooper was not wearing a mask while approaching the... View More

1) Yes.
2) They are suppose to wear masks for certain exceptions. However, the officer's non-compliance will not help you as a defense for the speeding charge.
Hello,

First, 20 miles over the speed limit is more than "a little" above the limit. You list Manhatten as the place, but I do not believe there is any 65 mph zone in Manh. The place you got the ticket is important because NY handles tickets differently in different counties and towns. In some... View More
I got the speeding ticket in weschester county. There's a court date on it. Do I need to go and what should I do, plead guilty or not guilty? Since i'm switching my license to Connecticut in a couple weeks will it affect it? Also will points get transfered over?

So if I were you I’d just hire an attorney (my office and others here handle them). Allow an attorney to defend the ticket and or negotiate it down to some kind of infraction to minimize or eliminate any points. The points will follow you so it’s the worst thing to do to plead guilty. Feel... View More

You make a valid point with a missing sign, and you provided photos as proof. It could sometimes be difficult to predict exactly how the City will rule, but it looks like you did everything in your power to present a persuasive case. Good luck

Not having a supporting deposition is not grounds for dismissal. You can request one when you send in your not guilty plea. Often, a supporting deposition is the second page of the ticket, sometimes even attached to it. You could try to use the fact that the trooper said it was there but... View More
