Q: What happens when a small claims co-defendent gets notification of a small claims suit if they don't live at the address

My boyfriend was informed he was being sued as a co-defendent for items left at my house by a former friend of mine... but he does not live at my address. This person does not know his address... only that he stays at my house

Q: Can a x gf whom moved out 3dys ago break into my house which i own an remove stuff with out me there?

Girl friend leaves me moves to another state 3 days later breaks into my house throu a window, gets her belonging, my sons which thers no court order on custody an takes some of my stuff... i called the cops an they said nothin they can do settle it in small claims...

If the only thing she took was her own property and no or little damage occurred to house, i believe they were exercising their discretionary authority to not pursue criminal charges

You can call the NH Professional Board of Conduct for attorneys and file a complaint. They will investigate and make a ruling on the matter. Good luck!

Q: Here it is. At 3 am Saturday morning my vehicle was towed. I didn't have sticker on was charged 280$ how can I fight it?

This is not a civil rights issue. If it wasn't registered then the owner of the property has rights. You should have notified them about your car being on the property without an inspection sticker. If you can prove they knew it was your car and you were there legally you may have an argument,... View More

You could call your local police department, and the Attorney generals office and file a complaint, they could investigate the allegation and if the mechanic did in fact pass a car and give you an inspection sticker illegally, take away his ability to give them out, fine him, or even charge him... I looked over the rules and I don't see them in there either. You can file a motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim for which relief can be granted and state the same reasons you stated here. Q: My husband helped someone move and now they are saying he broke something. Do we have to pay? He says he didn't break it

He helped a neighbor move to be nice. She said he broke the ac, which is 6+years old. Both said it was working when he left. She said it worked until she unplugged it. She's threatening a lawsuit.

He doesn't HAVE to pay anything until a Court orders him to. If the A/C is really that old, it's probably not worth much and I find it unlikely that someone would file a lawsuit (and pay a filing fee) for such a small amount. Even if they did file a lawsuit, they'd need to prove... View More
