When you go to court, be prepared to show the prosecutor proof that your vehicle was insured on the day in question. The charge should be dismissed on proof shown.

Very definitely. Look for an attorney who handles traffic citations. If the crash wasn't your fault you have a claim for your injuries and should contact a member of the Hawaii Trial Lawyers Association--they give free consults.
He lives out of state and has a court date; does he have to return or can an attorney speak for him with him being present in court?

They are posting it everywhere on Facebook and getting people to attack us. The person who crashed into their parked car left a note and the number isn't my fiancé but somehow brought them to his Facebook account. What should we do?

Notify your insuance to be on the safe side. Have an attorney draft a cease and desist letter. They can also give you a couple of short sentences you can respond to. If they aren't getting a rise out of you, sooner or later they will find something else.
