It will truly depend on the jurisdiction in which you were charged. There are many judges in Virginia that will impose a jail sentence for driving at that speed. You will want to contact a local attorney right away.
I have no mufflers or catalytic converters on my truck, but my vehicle is registered in Colorado.

You are required to adhere to the requirements in the state the vehicle is in, even if you are driving through. So people from Florida get tickets all the time for window tint that is legal in Florida but not legal in Virginia even though they are just passing through.
My GPS had me taking an exit on the left and I thought I was crossing over the HOV lane to get off of the highway, this is my 2nd offense so I avoid HOV lanes, but once I got off on the exit(which apparently was also an HOV lane) there was a police officer at the end of the exit which was about 500... Will this be thrown out since dmv was notified I just didn't get a new card. If I'm reading right notifying them is all i had to do, getting a new card wasn't required.

If they charged you with 46.2-324 then I think you are correct. If you can show you notified DMV it should get dismissed.
I received a reckless speeding ticket 3 and a half bears ago that is preventing me from receiving a promotion at work because I cannot be insured. How can I have this ticket reduced or removed?
answered on Apr 16, 2019
It sounds like it is a criminal misdemeanor reckless driving charge and not a simple speeding ticket. Either way, I don't think there is anything you can do. You have ten days to appeal after a conviction and 60 days to file a motion to reopen. Some judges bend the 60 day rule but I don't... View More
But it just tells me tickets in Pa. How can I find out about it or where can I find out about this? It's been over 25 yrs
answered on Apr 14, 2019
You should reach out to the Pennsylvania DMV. It will tell you how to come into compliance in PA and clear up your suspension(s) there so that you'll be okay to get your license in Virginia.
What do I need to do to get this taken care of? The tickets so old that I can't even remember what it was for.?? Thank you

Get a compliance summary from the Virginia DMV that will tell you what you need to do.
It has happened twice, by the same officer. I've got to go to work, have no other ride.

You should ride a bike or find a residence closer to work. If they have reason to believe your license is suspended then that's probably going to be fine.
Stuck with ignition interlock on my vehicle dmv says I can’t get restricted license is anything I can do?
answered on Mar 19, 2019
From what you are describing, it sounds like you were convicted of driving while you are suspended/revoked (for either a DUI or a drug charge) under VA code 18.2-272. One of the penalties under that statute is that the DMV takes your license for an additional 12 months (on top of the original... View More

Every court is different on their rules. Some courts have specific requirements. Some courts allow online driving school and some don't. You should have been given instructions to follow.
The tags had a '19' in the year spot becasue they were expired. Once he discorvered that he took them. I wasnt charged. But I want to know will dmv give them back?
answered on Mar 3, 2019
If they had a 19 in the year spot how were they expired? If the tags were illegal/altered then I doubt you're getting those back and you must be very grateful that you didn't get charged with a misdemeanor.
17 year old driver, licensed in WV, supposedly clocked at 92 in a 70. Parent in car, clean driving record. Juvenile District Court.
answered on Mar 3, 2019
Every court is different on how they treat 92 in a 70. Some courts give jail time, others convict and suspend the license but don't give jail, and many others will reduce with community service/driving school. Talk to an experienced traffic lawyer in the location where the offense was. Once... View More
How can Virginia enforce a tint violation on an out of state vehicle and get away with violating the right to pass law?
answered on Mar 3, 2019
Every driver in the US is required to comply with the individual requirements of each state they enter. When you enter a state you are required to abide by their laws. So if you bring marijuana that is legal to possess and use from one state where it's legal into a state where it's... View More

Yes. 30 mph over the limit in a 40 zone is a very high speed and both jail and license suspension are possible.
Contact a local lawyer for help on that one.

You're not allowed to change lanes if it's a solid line so you're guilty of it. They may help you if you hire a lawyer.
Officer claimed I dimmed my headlights 100 feet out but not as the law required which is 200 feet (Virginia) The ticket states "Did not dim lights" can I fight this as lights behave in strange ways depending on the circumstances

You can go to court and plead not guilty. The judge will just make a decision one way or the other.

I don't even know what you're trying to ask. If you were charged with driving without a license you can request a court appointed lawyer at your hearing or hire someone. Usually it helps to get properly licensed. Good luck.
