Advise the Court that you plead "Not Guilty" and bring your girlfriend to the assigned Court date. You will have an opportunity to speak with the Municipal Prosecutor and tell him/her what your defense is. Ask that the ticket be dropped.

Q: Car insurance company is forcing high premium for deceased spouse’s car accidents.

Mother-in-law is paying higher premium with car insurance because car insurance is claiming that she is responsible for her deceased husband’s car accidents. How is this fair? She was not the driver responsible causing these accidents.

Sounds unfair. I would begin with contacting your insurance agent, who can contact underwriting for an explanation. If you are not satisfied, contact NJ Department of Banking & Insurances and file a Complaint against the insurance company. She might also benefit from getting quotes from other... View More

This is not workers comp. It is more in the field of wage and hour compliance. Google the NJ Department of Labor. Go to the tab on Worker Protection and wage and hour compliance will pop up. That will make for good background reading. if you don't have the answer after that contact a wage... View More

Q: I am a relatively new employee of Costco and believe I was injured because of the job; can I get compensation?

I am a relatively new employee. I started working about a month ago. That is around the time in which I began getting pain in my arms and strong numbness in my fingers. I waited a little bit to see if this was something that required me to get adjusted to or if it was temporary, but as I went to... View More

It's hard to say from what you described as to whether you have a solid WC case. The best thing to do is to report your experience to Costco and ask to be seen by a company authorized doctor. You have to get treatment through Costco, although there are exceptions. A lot depends upon the job... View More

The police have 30 days to serve you with the tickets that you received. The driving while suspended can result in a high fine and/or license suspension. I would speak with a lawyer skilled in these matters.

Liability is not determined solely by property damage photographs, but they can be helpful depending upon what they are used in support of.

Do a new Power of Attorney and have a paragraph put in it that it voids and replaces any previously made Power of Attorney. Serve notice on anyone who was provided with the "fraudulent" POA that it is revoked and provide them with the new one.

Public defenders are court appointed lawyers in criminal cases.

Since you state that both of you are being sued, turn the matter over to your insurance company and they will assign counsel to defend you. If you were uninsured, you will need to hire an attorney at your own expense to defend you,

There is a law in NJ that provides that a dog owner is absolutely liable if their dog bites someone, unless the dog was provoked. Anyone who was bitten by this dog, should see a lawyer to determine if they can bring a pain and suffering claim against the owner. All such consultations are free.... View More
