I got a ticket for 55 in a 35 but it says my car is a convertible and a different color. Will that help me in any way if I plead not guilty?
answered on Nov 23, 2020
Yes, it could be considered a "fatal error" if it is incorrect in certain situations. You may want to fight it based on this or in the alternative you may want to seek a reduction of the ticket to a zero point offense so that it will not affect your insurance. Either way, an experienced... View More
The total fines amounted a total of $348. $246 from the careless driving & $102 from the speeding. I was wondering if there was any way to not have my license suspended & a decrease of the money owed, because I don’t believe there was carelessness involved seeing as there was no cars in... You will likely lose your license at that speed. First, plead not guilty on both citations and you will get a court date. Second, hire a lawyer immediately to go with you to court. There may be options to reduce the tickets so that you do not lose your license. You did not say what county this... View More
I was going 19 over in a 35. I am nervous cause this was my first-ever ticket. I do not know how many points I am receiving and I really do no want points. Is there a way to reduce my points? Or can I get rid of them altogether? I know what I did was wrong but they said I can only appear before a... View More

It is a good thing that you decided to contact an attorney before pleading guilty. Yes it is four points that will appear on your driving record. It could possibly affect your insurance premiums if you were convicted. My best advice is to plead not guilty and then you will get a court date.... View More

Yes, he is permitted to mail it to you, so long as the ticket is filed with the court within 30 days. You did not say what the offense was for and you should be sure to talk to a lawyer to determine if and how many points the ticket will add to your license. If there are points involved, I would... I am 45 years old with no record...will i go to prison?
answered on Nov 9, 2020
Hello, I don’t think any attorney will be able to tell you over and Internet question and answer whether or not you will go to jail. What I can tell you is that a felony is a very serious offense and whether you go to jail depends upon many factors including the facts of the case and whether or... View More

You should do absolutely nothing until you speak with a lawyer who will evaluate your case once he or she has all of the facts. Good luck!

You have to present your case to the officer first, and if he agrees, then to the judge. Your odds are better if you get a lawyer as there are better tickets than 3111. Also, if you have a lawyer, the lawyer may be able to attend court without your son having to go. Good luck.
Should receive the citation by mail. I never sign nothing or received a ticket can they mail me the ticket ?
answered on Oct 29, 2020
Yes, so long as the ticket is filed with the court within 30 days it can be mailed. Plead not guilty so you can get a court hearing because you are looking at points and possibly a suspension depending on the speed. Check out my website if you want to know the points if you have an idea of the... View More
I was driving to work the other morning (very early, it was pitch black) and I noticed an officer following me for a few miles. They eventually pulled me over and used a handheld device to check the tint on my back, driver- side window. I have absolutely 0% tint on my windows, so I believe they... View More

First thing you should do is follow the instructions on the ticket and plead not guilty to both citations because if you are convicted of driving under suspension that will add an automatic one year suspension to what you already have. Second thing you need to do is contact PennDOT immediately and... View More
Have a meeting with the judge to say way I couldn’t put up the collateral.. I never heard of this before can they make you pay the fine before you have a trial
answered on Sep 20, 2020
They make you pay the fine first which acts as collateral for the hearing. In NJ you get a court date right on the citation. In PA you have to either plead guilty or not guilty first. Almost every moving violation in PA transfers to NJ so I would advise you to plead not guilty and then go to court... View More
registration in the vehicle, he just paid the fines for both and pleaded guilty, what are the consequences for this?
answered on Sep 19, 2020
Plead not guilty because there is a 6 month suspension if he gets convicted of reckless driving. Get an experienced lawyer to go to court with him for the best chance it working out. I always recommend to my client to take a defensive driving class to make it look better. Good luck!
The officer said I could pay online and I see that being easier, also should I put in the a note stating I paid online with the guilty portion with my signature of pleading guilty?
answered on Sep 13, 2020
Do not pay the fine online as you will be pleading guilty and points may be assigned to your license. If you were guilty of any speed over 6 miles over the limit and you are looking at anywhere from 2 to 5 points. Additionally if it is a high-speed case you could lose your license. Before you pay... The citation has my name and icense info on it even though my son was driving - can that be right? Shouldnt his info be on that? Will that affect me?
answered on Sep 8, 2020
Sounds like the officer made a mistake by putting your name as the driver of the vehicle. If that is the case then there’s a good chance you can get it dismissed. To answer your question yes, you would be the one responsible if the ticket is written in your name so I would suggest pleading not... View More

My son is just 3 days shy of his 18th birthday. He was pulled over for going 38 in a 25. The officer was using a speed trap w lines and a stop watch. Hiring an experienced lawyer will help. It’s been my experience that many officer are willing to work with you and reduce the speed so hopefully he does not get any points.

Sounds like you were cut a break. He has 30 days to file the citation so if you don't hear anything this time next month you should be good to go. If you do get cited, you should speak with an experienced traffic attorney to discuss the ramifications. Good luck!
The officer recommended I plea not guilty and got to court and ask for leniency, in hopes I can get the points taken away. Is this the correct plan of action? I’ll most likely have to take a day off to make it to court and am unsure if it’s worth the hassle. Occurred in Allegheny County

If you don’t, four points will be assessed to your license. Depending on the judge your lawyer might be able to go to court on your behalf so that you would not have to take a day off of work. An experienced Traffic lawyer would be of great benefit to you. Start calling around as most of us give... View More

The fine cannot be reduced as it is based on the speed. It is zero points so just contact the court and ask for a payment plan. Good luck!
