Q: I live in a different town than my daughter do I have to find a lawyer in the town she lives in for child neglect

You will at least need to find an attorney who provides legal service in that town, even if the attorney is not located directly in that city.

Q: We have 2 grandchildren who are not being properly cared for. They are neglected and we have pictures of neglect. Help!

The first grandchild was taken by dfcs for the same reason. We don't want the kids to go to Foster care and we are able to care for them. What do we do?

You can file either a third party custody action or a private dependency action if you believe the children are being neglected. An experienced family law attorney can help you with either and guide you on which option would be best under the circumstances.

What statutes apply in a civil suit are going to be fact dependent on your individual circumstances. If you are considering filing suit against a governmental agency, you should consult with a civil rights attorney.

Q: The fee is $250 for mediation, what happens if I don’t pay my half

Apparently the fee for mediation is $250 and we are supposed to split it but I think that’s ridiculous since I didn’t ask for mediation, what happens if I refuse to pay my half? And if they don’t do it because of that reason what will happen next?
