Your question was not finished. But child support is not just dependent on having an equal amount of time with the child. It is also dependent upon whether or not u have equal incomes.

They can't force you to do anything.
They are offering you a chance to acknowledge paternity and have your name placed on the birth certificate.

If there was a support order and he didn't pay, then the back amount belongs to the mother.
She can collect.
There is no time limit.
The child support does not belong to the child.
The Mothers husband paid support because he took him as his.

Looks like in the divorce it was found that the husband was the father and he paid support.
There would have to be another court order to make someone else the father.
He never had interest in meeting her.

Nothing gets done unless you file a paternity case first.
Once he is determined to be the father, child support will follow.
