Providing a statement to the police about a dog bite incident may be required for an official investigation. However, before doing so, consult with a personal injury attorney to understand your rights and potential consequences. Be cautious not to admit fault or liability in your statement.

If you were attacked in Florida, then you need to retain counsel here in Florida. Your medical bills wont cover your pain and suffering damages, which they also would need to pay. If they rent or own a home, the dog owner is most likely covered by a liability insurance policy. Don't settle for... View More

Q: Our neighbor's dog comes on our property daily, off leash, and poops in our yard.

We have asked them multiple times to keep the dog in their yard, but they have not done anything. They let him out in the yard with no supervision, and he uses our yard as his toilet. Do we have any recourse?

Q: We've been watching a friend's dog for 8 and half months. Can we legally keep him if he wants him back?

It took him 3 or 4 months to even ask about the dog. He's neglectful towards the dog. He doesn't like to walk him. And for as long as we've had him giving him back would probably kill the dog.

Unfortunately, unless this person gave you the dog, he still has ownership rights, even if he is a crappy owner. If you suspect the owner neglects or abuses the dog, you could always call animal control. Otherwise, your only option to keep the dog is to offer to buy the dog from him. If he agrees,... View More
