This was a speeding ticket going 80 in a 55, which was reduced to a 61 in a 55 by the officer when I was stopped
When I was handed the ticket though, in the first name and middle name, only my initials were listed. Is it grounds for dismissal?

No. He handed it to you. You took it. Also, as he gave you a break, the District Justice will be frosty if you try a technical. He gave you a points break. A judge will think you are being greedy.

Yes, that would be a fatal error unless the judge allows the officer to amend the citation when you go to court. Get a lawyer because you will have a better result especially if you have to fight this issue. It is points on your license and you don’t want your insurance to be affected. Good luck

It is not uncommon but the citation must be filed within 30 days. It is a 3 point offense on your record so it is worth it to plead not guilty. Many judges will let your lawyer go to court for you so you may not even have to attend the court hearing to get your points reduced. Good luck!

I can for certain that if you have a Pennsylvania license, you will not receive any points for that section. That may vary if you have an out of state license, but I have never seen that section result in points even for an out of state license. Best wishes.

You need to speak with an experienced traffic attorney. If a judge sees that your license was suspended at the time you were pulled over then you will most likely be found guilty and lose your license for an entire year. Hiring an attorney would be a wise choice

Frankly, if there are no points you are better off paying it. Judges tend not to favor those who already got a break, and if you were doing almost 30 over or even 20 over they will consider it a monster break.

If he filed it with the wrong address, you may be already suspended. You need to either call the court where it happened or a lawyer to look into it
