Q: I got into my first accident and was cited for running a red light. What do I do now?

Today I got an accident when I turned left onto a controlled intersection, as soon as my car crossed into it, the light turned red. As I nearly completed my turn, a car from the rightmost side of the opposing way street hit the side of my car. I even saw the car moving towards my position as I... View More

See if there was an intersection camera.Act fast, request in person. If the light normally would go yellow you have a problem as you entered the intersection on a yellow. However worth a consult with an attorney. If you were hurt, contact a member of the Az Trial Lawyers Assn--they give free... View More

Not as far as I can see. Why try to nail the guy behind you? Go after the guy that rearended him--or better yet if you have collision use that and let them go after both.

Let's face if, if the hit is bad enough, if the other guy was 8 feet away from you you's still have been...

Q: I live in Az and was recently stopped illegally. After the stop the officer never cited me for the original made up

Offense. I was charged with driving while revoked and taken to jail. After the stop the officer made a comment he thought my wife was a prostitute and that's what we were up to. The area we were in was near Metro Center Mall and i guess it's a high crime area. Neither of these is... View More

The standard for an officer to initiate a traffic stop is actually Reasonable Suspicion (not Probable Cause). Reasonable suspicion is a lower standard than probable cause. You really should consider hiring an attorney as we are very familiar with writing suppression motions. With reasonable... View More

Q: What can I do about a recent traffic ticket for a moving violation?

I was recently on vacation in Arizona, and this moving violation occurred in Scottsdale. I had a green light, which quickly turned yellow, and very quickly turned red. I didn't know the light would've turned red that soon and I saw the flash come from the camera. If I knew the timing... View More

You should keep this off your record if you can and the best way to do that is to hire an attorney is AZ. You can use the find a lawyer feature to find an attorney who regularly handles traffic matters and has a good relationship with the court and prosecutors.

As I answered in your earlier questions, if the judge allows Defensive Driving School that would allow the charge to get dismissed. If you live out of state, do you really want to travel back to attend your hearing and take the risk? A pace can be questioned, but again I recommend hiring an... View More

Possibly, if you accumulated 8+ points within a year then you face a three month suspension or Traffic Survival School. Each speeding violation (including criminal speeding) is 3 points. If you are eligible for Defensive Driving School, ask the judge to see if he or she will allow it. That would... View More

Only if he plead not guilty and there was a court hearing. Even then you'd have to go to each lower court office where tickets are heard. Make it part of the deal that he has to tell you. Whenever a young adult drives a vehicle owned by someone it's a good idea to state what the preconditions are.

Q: what is B11508004 in Arizona penal code

i went to the dmv in california and the clerk said that i have a hold on my drivers licence and she gave me this code B11508004 for Arizona

This doesn't sound like a statute or anything. If you know the hold is in Arizona, you can call the MVD in Arizona and figure out what court is causing the suspension. You commonly see this with unpaid fines in an AZ court, which you would need to take care of in order to remove the license hold.

This depends largely on how fast you were going. If it was barely over the 20mph criminal threshold then the prosecutor may agree to offer a civil speeding plea or the judge may allow you to take defensive driving school. If it is in a school zone, other erratic driving observed, etc. then maybe... View More
