Only if he plead not guilty and there was a court hearing. Even then you'd have to go to each lower court office where tickets are heard. Make it part of the deal that he has to tell you. Whenever a young adult drives a vehicle owned by someone it's a good idea to state what the preconditions are.

This doesn't sound like a statute or anything. If you know the hold is in Arizona, you can call the MVD in Arizona and figure out what court is causing the suspension. You commonly see this with unpaid fines in an AZ court, which you would need to take care of in order to remove the license hold.
