Q: Mom got DUI in truck that is in my name, and had no insurance on it which I thought she did. Will I get in trouble?

I did not know she was drinking and driving, also didn't know she never had insurance on it.

You need to obtain the electronic mail to and from Gieco to determine whether policy was in effect. In addition, your previous insurance company may have continued the policy of insurance for a short period of time after the cancellation for non-payment.

Generally you aren't responsible for your kids in that regard unless the car was in your name and you lacked adequate coverage. If it's his name and lacked adequate coverage he might be able to get additional coverage on yours but that's not tooo likely the way policies are written now.

If you rear-ended someone, you just-about certainly were following too closely. You should ALWAYS leave enough room between you and the car in front of you, so as to guard against EXACTLY this sort of thing happening. So no, I don't think you have a defense.
