While traffic violations are generally treated a little differently, any violation of law in Oklahoma that carries a fine or jail time that does not meet the definition of a felony, is technically a misdemeanor. That includes all, or nearly all, traffic violations - including the one you ask about.... View More

If the District Attorney is prosecuting this, then you need to hire an attorney to represent your son's interests and help mitigate this matter----depending on the age of your son, it may be possible to get all of this transferred to juvenile court jurisdiction which might keep all of this off... Technically, state law requires one signal their intention to turn right or left by signaling continuously during not less than the last one hundred (100) feet traveled by the vehicle before turning - if other traffic will be affected by such movement. Municipal ordinances may be worded a little... View More

Not sure what your question is - however, the officer presents the charges based on the information they have. In other words if the computers are down, or that particular department is not using computers, then he may not see the prior offenses and therefore presents the charges to the DA or city... They are listed as title 15 violations, (speeding and not carrying DL) my understanding is I can present my valid DL and have that dismissed, but the speeding one is also 100$ more than the statute lists. Can I get it reduced?

Depends if it was a municipal, county or state. Municpalities can set their own fee schedules. Additionally if it were in construction zone, school zone or other contributing factors then the fee could be higher as well. You can try to get it lowered but chances are it will cost more to get it... View More

Using Google Maps and searching for the city will generally highlight the city in a different shade/color. Often, the municipality's website will have a downloadable map of the city, which should show you the outer boundaries of the city.

No, a stop sign is not a yield sign. A stop sign means you are supposed to stop and failure to do so exposes you to a traffic ticket for stop sign violation.

Is there a possibility you were in the wrong court? A lot of people go to the city when they should be going to the county and vice versa. I would recommend verifying the department that issued you the ticket and then make sure that was the court you went to.
