Q: A PhD, on F-1 OPT working as a contractor- how long can I work without it affecting my chances for green card/H-1.

I am looking for full-time jobs in the meantime. Once I get a job, I will leave contract work, use a few days of allowable unemployment (out of the 90 days allowed on OPT). Good idea to use my unemployment days to take a break between contract and full-time job/bad idea?

You need to be working a minimum of 20 hours a week does not matter how many months you work. It will not affect your chances for a green card of H1B.

First you need an attorney to file a bond for her. Second the attorney can file a motion to re open the case and find out if there are any loopholes which will allow your neice to reverse the decision made by the judge here. So, talk to an attorney as soon as you can. All the best.

I heard from someone that if you became a citizen and checked of on the application that tou won't join the army if drafted but own a gun or guns you can be deported. I know it sounds silly but I would feel much more comfortable about excersizing my rights as a citizen.
