Q: How many points off your license for, disregarding highway sign. 26.2-830

If you are licensed in Virginia that's 3 demerit points under 46.2-830. A lawyer might be able to help you get it reduced or dismissed

There has to be a posted sign putting you on notice of the change. I'd try to document it somehow if there is not a posted sign by traveling the same route to verify.

Virginia code 46.2-300 (Driving without a valid license) does have exemptions:

If you got a speeding ticket then you would normally pay the fine (determined by the judge or by a prepaid formula if you prepaid it) plus court costs. The court costs on a speeding ticket are usually about $61-66 in most jurisdictions but if your original charge was reckless driving by speed then... View More

Most likely all of those tickets will show up on your Virginia driving record and you will have a negative point balance. You can do a voluntary driving school which will give you five good points, and that will help offset all of the points you are getting.

If an officer has probable cause, they can reach into your car and seize evidence. In this case, it appears that the officer probably had probable cause.
