Without more information it's difficult to tell you how hard it would be. The costs of adoptions vary from county to county and lawyer to lawyer. Why not consult with an experienced family law attorney in your area to discuss the situation in more detail and get an idea of your options as well... View More
My son father paid child support 1 month (April 2018) I didn't receive anything for the whole year of 2017. I just received for may of this year then july of this year 2019. I called the child support office and told them what was going on but nothing happened. I seriously need some help on... View More

I'm not sure why this is happening but you might try making an appointment to sit down with your caseworker. Sometimes the best way to get action is to go in person. I'm assuming that the father cannot be wage attached because he is self-employed or changes employment frequently.
i have been taken to child support twice now and he keeps saying that i dont need to be on it but continues to file
answered on Aug 26, 2019
He can keep filing to his heart's delight. If you do find yourself in court, though, and you have retained an attorney to represent you, you may eventually be able to receive an award of counsel fees. You might also try bringing up that you keep having to miss time from work, pay a sitter, or... View More
Drops 95 percent of his arrears? This is in Pennsylvania by the way.
answered on Aug 26, 2019
It sounds like four boyfriend needs to consult with an experience family law attorney and file for support. I am assuming that the support order at issue is against him. It would be very odd if the court were to incarcerate a custodial parent for arrears owed the non-custodial parent unless there... View More
What are my options? She is behind by $4000. Thank you

Contact Domestic Relations and have them file for contempt. It's actually a bit odd that the computer has spewed out a contempt petition already
I have two sons 17 and 14, The 17 year old turns 18 in April and Graduates in May. Neither his mother or I reside in Pennsylvania any longer. Does he automatically gets removed or do I have to file?
answered on Aug 21, 2019
A notice should be sent out in advance of his 18th birthday, asking his mother, and I believe you as well, whether he should be removed from the order at 18. Obviously, the answer is no because he's not been graduated from high school. If the mother says to remove him at at graduation, then... View More

I, m unaware of a law that would prohibit this but the landlord may have qualifying conditions, such as how many people may reside in a one bedroom apartment.

The father would likely have to file a custody complaint, seeking time with his child. The complaint would be filed in the county where the child has resided for the last six months.
My husband has been paying support since his ex gf and him split up. He has been over paying as his job kept taking the money out. He has been receiving checks back from support for a few months of random amounts, which we did not understand why either. When he logged onto the online portal for... View More

He can find out for sure by contacting your local Domestic Relations Office. Is his child 18 and been graduated from high school? That's the most likely reason. The checks are being sent back to him because he apparently overpaid and didn't owe any more support. Tell him to make the call... View More

I'm assuming you mean you signed an Acknowledgment of Paternity. That means you swore that the child is your biological child. If a support action is filed against you, you'd better consult with an experienced family law attorney to find out if you have any options to avoid paying support... View More
She said that I am able to work full time so she calculated it at 40 hours minimum wage. Stated that was my capacity to earn
answered on Aug 18, 2019
I assume your question is "Can she do that?" The answer is "yes". You'll probably have to find another part-time job or a full-time one.
He has had her for 4 years from never giving her back to me amd is now not taking care of her properly he has an opend case with cny in another county . I want to take her to live with me and he is going to get aggressive and call the police . Will I get introuble for taking my daughter from him?
answered on Aug 18, 2019
I would not recommend that you just take the child away from him if there's an open CYS case. Talk to an experienced family law attorney to determine whether you should consider filing for custody.

It would probably depend on what the father has to say about this. You'd probably do yourself a service by consulting with an experienced family law ttorney in you area to discuss the facts and your options.
I wanted to work out a custody arrangement with ex but he stated that he would rather our daughter go to the system than with me and plans to fight me to the bitter end. Is there even a slight chance I would be allowed by the courts to take her to Texas with me if I'm willing to work out... View More

Sure, it's possible, just not easy. I strongly urge you to contact an experienced family law attorney in your area to fully discuss the child relocation laws in PA.

No. Child support is for a child who has been born, not one who's waiting to be.
Hi I have an open custody case we have not yet met with the mediator and have a set court date. I was wondering if I filed for child support for my daughter (just one child together) and I make way more than my ex. Would I have to pay him? Considering all of my monthly expenses.
answered on Aug 18, 2019
The support guidelines do not take into account either parent's expenses other than the mortgage payment on the marital home, and that's at the court's discretion. If you obtain custody, then you wouldn't pay him. If he obtains custody, then you would pay him. If you have shared... View More

The parents' parental rights will have to be terminated and an adoption petition filed. Your county may have guidance available online for completing this process which is somewhat complicated. I'd suggest that you retain an attorney to shepherd this through the system for you but, if you... View More

Your grandmother really should engage the services of an attorney knowledgeable in both estate administration and real estate, which shouldn't be too hard to find since these two areas of practice areas frequently overlap. I wouldn't think this would be costly
For the past 4 years I have seen both my sons every other weekend now I haven't seen my 17 yr old in almost 2 months and mother says he's either sleeping or out with friends. What can I do?
answered on Aug 16, 2019
If you can't contact him directly, then your only recourse is likely filing a custody petition.
