In illinois it is a moving violation but is not in Missouri.
answered on Feb 18, 2020
It is not a moving violation in Illinois. I tell anyone that calls me on this type of ticket to just pay it and move on. No need to appear in court and pay an increased fine.

If you appear in court, you will need a parent with you, but if you are just paying the ticket, which you could do online in most jurisdictions, you should not need an parent with you. Depending on the ticket, you will likely have to appear in court.

First, tell your parents about this ticket. Do not try and hide this ticket from them because it could cause issues with their car insurance. Second, contact the Circuit Court Clerk's Office in the Court House where you may have to appear to find out if you have to appear in court. Third, have... View More
When I look up the ticket number it gave me a court date do I have to go? Also is it possible to pay it off myself in person or do I have to have a parent with me

First, tell your parents about this ticket. This ticket will cause issues with their car insurance if you are convicted. Second, you will want to appear in court to make sure that you receive Court Supervision, which means you will have to bring a parent to court with you. Third, your parents... View More
I bought a used car around 7pm and got pulled over around 1230am on the same night and apparently I didnt know that you can buy insurance online because I thought I wanted to wait the next morning to call the insurance company. The very next morning, I purchase the insurance.
answered on Feb 18, 2020
You have what is called late compliance which you will have to show in court in order to receive Court Supervision. If this is not your first No Insurance ticket, you need to hire an attorney to assist you with this matter right away because if you receive a conviction on a No Insurance ticket,... View More

This is something he needs to discuss with his attorney. If he has not hired an attorney yet, he should do so right away.

What? No one here can tell you how to do this. This is why we go to law school and work many years for the experience to handle such matters. You need to make sure to appear in court and see what happens in court.

You need to contact the Illinois Secretary of State Office to find out what you need to do to clear your license. You need to make sure you ask the correct question. You need to ask what needs to be done to lift the suspension from your license. Failure to pay tickets prevents you from renewing... View More

From what I was told, it would be after a person is sentenced. For example, they are sentenced to 4 years, would serve 2, but then a motion is filed so that if they have been in jail for 9 months, he would get credit for 18?
answered on Feb 5, 2020
There is no such motion. This is all up to the Illinois Department of Corrections. If you are still confused, you really should speak with the inmates attorney regarding this matter.

When the person came to our house to deliver the subpoenas, we were not home and they gave them to my 17 year old daughter. Is that legal?
answered on Feb 5, 2020
Yes, this is considered proper service. If you fail to comply with the subpoena, a warrant can be issued for you and your wife. If you are concerned about testifying, you really should consult with an attorney prior to your court date.
Will I need to have another evaluation done?
answered on Feb 5, 2020
It is still good for the purposes of the needed classes but it is not good for a hearing before the Illinois Secretary of State Office. You really should start your classes. You do not want to fall behind on them and fail to complete them as a condition of your sentence.

You really should try and complete everything within your given time frame. Failure to do so will likely result in a Petition to Revoke your Sentence and if granted, you will be resentenced. Also, if you do get an extension, this means that you are under the Court's thumb for even longer which... View More
