Q: Is it legal for an 18 year old to date a 17 year old with no sexual activity?

If I start dating someone as a minor and I turn 18, and she's a year behind is that O.K.? I'm not 18 yet but want to know for the future. It's a weird age to be at and I don't want kissing her to suddenly become sexual assault or something.

Ha. No, it isn't criminal. You are safe to date.

I do recommend you review Florida Statute794.05 to avoid any confusion in the future.

Since when is a 17 year old an adult?

Frankly, her father's decision to keep his (currently) 16 year old daughter away from a 27 year old Is 100% legal and perfectly sane.

You Have zero rights. He does have a right to keep you away, and you are walking a very fine line.

Q: My daughter was driving my car and hit by a drunk driver with no insurance can I sue him

Well, you can sue him for property damage and your daughter can sue him for personal injury; however, if he didn't have insurance he likely does have any collectable assets so you would likely be throwing your money away.

Not a whole lot. There doesn't appear to be any damages- so unless you want to pay for a POTENTIAL (but not likely) moral victory I recommend forgetting about it.
