Does that mean the medical bills will go to her as well?

It depends if she signed documents at the hospital agreeing to be responsible for the medical bills. Since they are divorced she would not be responsible otherwise as she is not the spouse.

You should have an attorney review the contract and other documents that you signed but generally contracts are binding upon the parties and they can't change the terms.

Verbal contracts are enforceable. However, they are harder to enforce. You would have to file a lawsuit against the party that didn't perform under the terms of the verbal contract. You would need witnesses to testify in court of the verbal contract and the terms. The judge would determine if... View More
My Grandfather left a will. The probated was hotly contested but then never finalized. I think the answer depends on the circumstances surrounding the probate that was never finalized. It is odd that your uncle was cut out of the will and contested it but was also the Executor. Your father could have objected at the time and the Court would have forced the probate to be finalized.... View More
Not sure if there is a will or not. My sister was making house payments with moms money, mom died last month and she hasn't made the house payment. What can I do to prevent losing the house for non payment with her living in it?
answered on Jun 7, 2021
You can make the mortgage payment yourself - the mortgage company won't care who makes the payment as long as it is paid. You should get a probate on file so the PR will have the authority to discuss the mortgage with the mortgage company. Through the probate you can get the house sold and... View More

Generally the lien has to be renewed every 5 years to be valid. I suggest you consult with an estate planning attorney to make sure everything is in order and your property will go to your girlfriend upon your death.
