It would be a good idea to secure a lawyer. A lawyer would help you to understand the problems an adjuster can create in your case involving the shoulder tears and causation. If you don't understand why now it will be too late later on.

Did you receive the Auxier Letter advising thirty days before the termination your benefits would end? Did you return to work? Did the doctor indicate you've reached MMI? Were you released to return to work? Need more information, otherwise everyone is just guessing.

That all depends. Were you injured? Did you receive medical care? Is your injury significant enough to actually make it worth the time and expense involved? Did it require surgery? Did you have a broken bone or just hit your funny bone? Answer those questions and I can answer yours.

They should cover your damages, but the other guy's insurance may have to cover his. Too bad for the OWI, that will cost you in time, money and points. Good luck.

Do you have a lease? What does the lease say regarding pets? And, is this dog a "support animal"? If you have a letter or prescription from either your doctor or a therapist that this animal is necessary for emotional support, then I don't think they can legally make you move.

Well, we see this quite often and sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. It all depends on whether there are different opinions. Many times an injured worker has an injury to two different parts of their body with a different physician treating each. Those physicians can have opinions at... View More

They can, but should they, probably not. Of course children seldom tell the entire story or accurately. I would not charge head-strong into the school planning on attacking the teacher. Instead I would suggest asking for a meeting to discuss the situation. I would listen with an open mind,... View More

I'm hesitant to answer this question without knowing more. See a lawyer. My gut tells me it's doubtful. And so see a lawyer.

I would say the answer to your question is "Yes". You may have to hire a lawyer but most will take your case based on a fee being paid contingent upon getting the benefits. Of course you should put the employer on notice of the injury, by telling them, preferably in writing, immediately.... View More

Q: I am suffering complications from a spinal surgery that didn't go as well as the surgeon assured me it would.

I have hired a lawyer to sue for medical malpractice but the surgery was very complex. If this goes to trial, is a medical expert going to be required?

Yes. The testimony of an expert witness will be necessary to establish a breach of the standard of care neurosurgery requires for a proper outcome. A bad outcome proves little or nothing about whether or not the surgical technique used was wrong. Without an expert opinion your case will likely... View More

Q: My husband slipped and fell on a wet floor at the hotel we were staying at. He broke his elbow.

When we asked the hotel for help paying the medical bills they said it wasn't their responsibility because they contract out for their cleaning and the cleaners weren't hotel employees. Is this true?

The hotel likely has insurance to cover medical bills. You may have to hire a lawyer to obtain the insurance information. But without the lawyer's help apparently the hotel does not want to provide this information. You're being reasonable and they aren't. It's that simple.

Without knowing the exact terms of the settlement no lawyer can answer this question. Who was a party to the settlement and what were the terms of the settlement? Did anyone seek the consent of any underinsured motorist insurance company at the time of the settlement? You really need to sit down... View More

It appears from where you posted this question the dog bite occurred somewhere in Iowa. Your medical bills may be covered by two insurance policies. The first, assuming you can identify the owner of the dog, would be the dog owner's homeowner's insurance policy. And if not, then perhaps... View More
