Q: I got a ticket from an officer today who was using Lidar. However, he did not record the speed on the ticket.

The officer was using Lidar equipment to record my speed but when I looked at the ticket, he never recorded the speed on the ticket itself. Instead, it just states he was using Lidar and it states the speed limit of the given area. I also was not shown any other proof as to my speed. Is this common... View More

How lucky an officer was nearby! I would still file an accident report for insurance purposes. I would also let your insurance know what you indicated here: that you were in fear for your safety and drove away from an unsafe situation. They can determine culpability for the damages. Q: I was stopped for speeding. 52 in a 30. Seems fast to me but I'm not contesting I was going faster than the S. Limit.

Should I go to court and talk to the judge about lowering points (possibly the fine too)? I've lived here (in CO) 10+ years & have never received a ticket. I'm normally a cruise control guy & don't speed. I support a family of 6 on 1 income (mine) and I drive for work... View More

It would be the prosecuting attorney to whom the request for the reduction in points could be made. You may improve your probability of getting a suitable reduction by proactively engaging in a traffic class offered through court approved providers such as CIMA or ISAE. Different jurisdictions... If your name was mistakenly put on a traffic ticket intended for another person, the ticket may be dismissed. A new ticket may be issued in the correct name of the person for whom the ticket was intended.

A warrant in a traffic case will cause an OJW hold on your license. You will simply need to resolve the outstanding ticket. If you retain a Colorado attorney, they can file a motion asking to vacate the warrant and schedule the case for appearance and resolve the ticket. The clearing of the... View More

Best is to get a traffic ticket attorney. Or you can plead not guilty and subpoena the Uber customers to testify that they saw you make a complete stop. But the Court is not obliged to believe them even if they show up. You will end up with unhappy customers who will complain to Uber. Thank you for... View More

The court should allow your personal insurance as proof of insurance on the date you were driving. As for the registration, you should ask the court to dismiss since you are not the registered owner. Contact a traffic ticket attorney in CO for assistance.
